Little review I made for this masterpiece of an ep after listening to it 2 times a few days ago: The name for this EP was really fitting; Vorso confirmed his place at the absolute top of the halftime/experimental scene. Starting it off aggressively, Vorso shows us with the first track what to expect from the EP. The impeccable sound design, which has basically become standard for him but still impresses me in every track, combined with how good it is musically and how diverse the drops are, make this an incredible start to the EP. Anyone who thought the rest of the tracks wouldn't hold up to the first track is immediately proven wrong by Midnight Sun. Ekcle joins forces to make a song that is even better than you would expect from these two names. Going from hard hitting to a softer, more vibrant feel, they deliver what I'm very inclined to say is the best track of the year yet. Waterfront sees Vorso experimenting genre wise (although some of the tracks on Spectre went in this direction aswell). In this track, it's the off drop part that shines the most. Tesla makes sure anyone who's stopped paying attention (not sure if possible though) is pulled back in. Taking notes from some other producers (mainly Chee), it's a strong track that will absolutely go off in clubs. Out of the Blue is the perfect track to end it on a calmer note. The use of a few different vocal samples is really interesting and creates an intriguing end to the EP. As I said, this is Vorso claiming his spot as one of the best halftime producers. He doesn't need anyone but himself to make 4 of the best tracks of the year, and it's hard to imagine Midnight Sun will be topped any time soon. Vorso keeps it diverse, does some unique things and keeps up the impressive sound design throughout the five tracks. As a whole, it flows really well and makes you excited for what Vorso has to offer next. The one thing that does feel lazy about it is the two drop formula used in every song. It would be nice to hear it changed up to some 1/3 drop tracks or something progressive. That said, The Imperative blew me away. The tracks individualy are stunning, and so is the project as a whole. Electronic producers seem to ignore this for the most part but he got the order, transitions, etc. just right. Ending this with an imperative towards other producers: Try to make something as good as this! ^wrote this mostly because i felt like writing something, but I figures I'd share it here

i hear literally zero chee in Tesla. Great track but reminds me way more of Noisia or even Mefjus than it does Chee. Chee is really good too btw.
