"You have to take devotional delight in the details. You go in and you do the same movements every day, day in and day out. Soon there has to be an incredible single-mindedness and focus and intensity of purpose." -Silas Farley

The first time I saw a video with Silas Farley I thought his enthusiasm for life was infectious. His faith showed before this video. I absolutely love that!!!

WOW I so admire Silas Farley for faithfully dedicating his dance life to Christ. What I find even more refreshing and surprising is that his faith story was kept in this video, and not cut out because it has to do with God!

Wow NewYorkCityBallet and Harvard Graduate at the same time!! but what inspires me even more was his Faith in God and his Statement on -' my identity is in Christ, not that i m a dancer ' Thank You Sila=)

@@smaree1703 Well, I'm an atheist myself, but there's so much violence and ugliness in this world, including the ballet world (just look up the Finley case) that the fact that a young man speaks of his faith as the source of inspiration for his artistic life seems so pure and innocent to me. Nothing wrong with it.

Silas, you're such a breath of fresh air! Your joy in doing what God has asked of you and gifted you with, and your boldness to unashamedly give him praise and all the credit is convicting and inspiring. Keep representing Him, He is making a difference!

This is the best episode of Season 2. So much of this is focused onballet (as it should be) but being able to see the outside lives and passions of these people besides their identities as dancers was amazingg

As a musician, I feel very close to them. I breath music, eat, sleep, practice and repeat. If I don't, I feel like buried alive. Also, what I do at my instrument feels like that is totally what I'm meant to be. There's nothing I've ever experienced that is mentally, physically, emotionally and personally s challenging as music. You're on the right track when you constantly literally jump of cliffs and do what is the most difficult thing to do, in every aspect. Its so fulfilling, it's the best thing in the world. And on the other hand, there's A LOT of frustration to deal with, treason, sore muscles, desperation. But without it, the moments of perfection wouldn't be as sweet. Those ballet dancers are very inspiring to me, maybe even more since I'm going to be an opera singer, and my instrument is my body.

As an animator, my "secret life" is dancing, I could relate very much with the dancer that draws because she is like me but the other way around, for me dancing doesn't have to be perfect and it's completely for myself

ah someone takes their faith seriously, but thats ok, if your not pouring your heart into everything you do, then you are not doing your best,so too with dance, though depending how its used and the message you tell with it can be a strong good or bad, but if you aren't putting your heart into it you aren't really dancing. and as for the pretty girl that does the poetry, you can you cant stomp your foot in anger, well depends on the dance, if you tap dance you certainly can, and there is always the rosin box, find a huge chunk and stomp that thing like a cockroach hehe. of course channeling you energy into something creative and postive is much better, after all its said its easier to tear down and destroy then it is to create and bring to life.
