Yes, that's DPR IAN. He's the director of this video and also the narrator. His team from DPR also involved in the production. The voice in the bloopers is his Mito-voice. DPR IAN has a huge lore surrounding his music videos (please listen to his music as well) and that voice is the voice of one of his characters named Mito (I won't explain more here hehe). Back to the bloopers, I think IAN tries to insert his lore here but IU kinda smacked him off lol

I love how you tackle the meaning of the song for this mv. Most reactors react with the sound, melody and the visuals of the mv. This is great. Detractors said that IU is only well known in Korea, unknown globally or at least in the West/USA. She is now taking the steps to go global with filming the 2 MV in LA and going on a global tour soon. (Holssi) She's no more a flower rooted to the ground but has become a spore flying everything where greed/ambition leads. It seems in Korean, greed & ambition is the same word. Sometimes it needs greed to drive the ambition.

Really enjoy your comments. Key point in reference to ‘greed’ is the narrator comment in the beginning that there is no limit to items in the store…and message repeated that the store never closes. I interpret that to mean that life is not a zero sum game where your success is at the expense of others. There is no limit to those magical items. Go for your goals. Very positive. Another observation about the car and ‘find a friend’ is likely also tied to everyone knowing she doesn’t drive (no license) - and she has no plan to learn how…

Nice review, your interpretation is in line with IU's introduction to the album. People go through life hiding what they want to have because of what other people think of them. It's unfortunate, but that's how modern society is. I think the song is saying that life is short, so don't hold back anymore and go for what you want. I'm really impressed with this album.

iu doing what she does best, everything she does is magical! 23:16 yes DPR ian was the one narrating it, he's korean-australian and yes he is also an artist and an incredible one at that. he directed and edited IU's MV, he has been a visual director/editor for other artists long before he even started his solo career but trust me his own music videos are something else. you should definitely check him out, he's very unique and creative. if you're curious i suggest you to check out "DPR ian - limbo" since it's one of his most recent songs but all of his stuff is great. all of DPR ian's artistry is based on his personal experiences with bipolar I and DID (dissociative identity disorder) and he has his own lore and stuff related to it, it's very cool.

I agree with you 100% that Holssi and Shopper are connected. You mentioned a couple of things that connect the 2 videos, allow me to add a few more. In Holssi you have a 2 trash bags that are blue on top of the traditional dark green one in the opening scene. You also have 1 dancer dressed in blue where every one else is in black. In Shopper you DPR in a blue suit, his car is blue and you have 2 policemen also dressed in blue. IU in Holssi is wearing a hat with 2 long braids. In Shopper she comes out of the closet with braids. And the clincher is when she is in front of the theater there are Dandylion seeds, which like in Holssi floating around her. Once she goes inside the Dandylion seeds are replaced with confetti, a metaphor for Victory. In Holssi IU is telling us why she has decided to go down a different path and accept a new challenge. She acknowledges that it is going to be easy but that she is taking flight, breaking from Tweety bird who always returned to the safety and comfort of his cage, and she is going to see how high she can fly. In Shopper, she is telling everyone to dream big and outrages dreams and don't let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough or you need to be more practical. Nothing great ever came from being practical. She had planned to retire after the Golden Hour Concert. Performing in the Olympic Stadium was something she never even dared dream of and she felt that she had achieved everything she could. She acknowledges that shecwas suffering from some burn out and that while getting ready for the concert and the excitement of her fans she started to consider that there were other things to be achieved. She has never performed outside of Asia. But with her World Tour she is doing something that has never been done in kpop. A soloist who has never been apart of a group has never even tried to conquer the World Stage let alone the US. By filming her 2 title tracks in the US (also a first for her) she has thrown down the gauntlet. In Holssi she tells us she is going to win and in Shopper she is claiming Victory.

Interesting interpretation of "greed is free". I learnt from a Korean reactor that in Korean, they have a word that, depending on context, can mean both "greed" and "ambition". Ambition is a form of greed anyway, don't you think? 😊 It makes this lyric much more ambiguous. As is so often the case with IU's lyrics. To not even get started on her poetic symbolism 😅
