Players are fitter and more athletic and hack a Shaq is a very viable tactic because Shaq is definitely not hitting free throws consistently. The warriors would shoot the Lakers out of the gym. A 40% three point shooter with ten attempts would have 12 points. A 50% 2 point shooter would only have 10. Now extrapolate that over a whole game. The Lakers would lose by a wide margin.

It will be difficult for gsw to win that match-up. They can check Shaq that way, but that will leave Kobe alone or in a 1v1 scenario, not even Klay can guard #8 alone. They atleast need 2 guys to double team #8, that's like 4 guys already just to guard 2 people. Kobe and Shaq aside, the other 3 is not to be taken lightly too since they can shoot 3s on a respectable level as well.
