You could be the best individually-talented player in the League, but the MVP goes to the player that is crucial to their team’s success. Just because you drop buckets doesn’t mean you’re the MVP. You have to take into account assists, steals, blocks, and every other facet of the game. It’s not just about points. Why did Steve Nash get MVP? Because on paper, his team did not have the same success when he wasn’t playing (more so than any other team in the League).
