Hi Nicole. I am not sure if I understand how the cigarette sales ban by the pharmacy you mentioned is a CSR approach targeting supply chain. May you kindly shed more light on it? Great content by the way. Thank you very much.

Thank you for watching! So to answer your question: Supply chain in the sense of not just thinking of your CSR strategy through the lens of what you can do directly as a company like corporate grants, product donations, employee volunteering, DEI, but also thinking about the extensions of your company and how those decisions may impact the communities you operate in. As an example, taking a look at the suppliers that you rely on to operate and considering their CSR standards and ethics, who they are as company, etc.,… then evaluating how those things align or do not align with your company standards and values. Sometimes it means making some hard decisions that could impact your bottom line - like removing cigarette suppliers in order to stay consistent with your values. Worth noting for those who are new to social impact, the above is just one way of thinking of supply chain in the CSR context. Other examples would be more around ensuring supply chain partners adhere to critical standards like fair wages, safe working conditions, environmental standards, etc,

Aah lovely. Thank you very much for the clarity. I think many of us do not understand or possibly do not think this is a form of CSR. The possibilities are endless. Much appreciated!@@TheSocialImpactShow
