There are some text that can have a different context: Zechariah 14:16 "16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles." With Jesus already here there will be nations that do not will worship him or accept his Law, there will be a process of years until all nations recognize Jesus is the lord. Also says that after the 1000 years Satan will be free again for a little time, so Jesus return to heaven Until all enemies are under his feet again? so science need to first invent a method to avoid death and then Jesus that saves us from death comes back? ... have you ever tought that "the mark of the beast" may be a human way to avoid death that later end in a horrible death? instead of trusting Jesus and wait for his salvation and wait for the tree of life again as recorded in revelations?... the full context is way more complicated but may be more clear.

A Lot of what you said makes sense, sounds good & technically Christ has been ruling since the beginning. The problem I see with what you are saying is that the world is not getting better &, if any anything, the Church is losing ground with society becoming more secularised & more hostile toward Christ then any other time in history since His resurrection. Revelation also talks of a time when Satan will be bound for a 1,000 years & that too has also not happened. If anything Satan now has the upper hand (so to speak) right now with the world moving closer to him rather than closer to Christ. No I believe just as Israel failed to be God's witness to the world, so too has the Church. I also believe this was always part of God's plan because He foresaw mankind's weakness & inability to be bold witnesses because of our pride, arrogance & self-centeredness. For those reason, along with many more too numerous to speak of here, I believe it make more sense that we are headed towards a future with a literal rule of a real "anti-Christ' who will bring about hell on earth Then Christ will return to destroy Satan & evil once & for all.

Good video, and I agree with a lot of, if not most of what is being said. I'm not sure about the part though where you claim that people will be ready (as in willing) to welcome Christ back when he returns. What do you make of Christ's question "When the son of man returns, will he find faith on earth?" For me, this seems to indicate a widespread apostasy from faith in Christ. What are your thoughts about this? Thanks.

That’s Great, start Reading the Bible don’t be a jehovah witness, they’re wrong on the first verse of the Bible! Elohim is plurality of God in Hebrew just like six chapters later, Nephilim is the “fallen ones” in Hebrew, it’s plural, same suffix-im! So if they’re wrong on the first verse of the Bible that’s a bad start! Gods pronouns are “us and we” , because he is plural!

@@InspiringPhilosophy The major problem with prophecy is that much of itis speculation. One clear example is the rapture. As it stands today, there are 8 (eight) interpretations of what point the rapture will take place. I have no real proof of what point the rapture will take place and if one is honest neither does anybody else but try to reason with anybody who believes in 1 of the 8 interpretations, nobody is going to change their mind, so when it comes to eschatology it's best never to be dogmatic about much of this stuff.
@stevenyoung3752 Жыл бұрын
@JAAB9296 yeah, and even the whole idea of the rapture itself is just a protestant innovation that's not even held by a majority of Christians (Catholic/Orthodox). When dealing with eschatology it's best to remember that you are a mortal human being trying to understand unfathomable cosmic mysticism and to humble yourself to that mystery. Christ Himself said that it's not for anyone to know the hour except for the Father, and I don't think he just meant the actual temporal location of the event but also the nature of the event itself.

By watching and praying and witnessing you can do both but you really need to focus on your daily walk if you’re new to Christ! You cannot take the book of revelation and make it all metaphor, there’s too many moving parts! To quote the late Dr. Michael Heiser; "We often presume that the phrase “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” describes a Church taking on the onslaught of evil. But the word “against” is not present in the Greek. Translating the phrase without it gives it a completely different connotation: “the gates of hell will not withstand it.” (Search the Logo article; What Did Jesus Mean by “Gates of Hell”? for important context) It is the Church that Jesus sees as the aggressor. He was declaring war on evil and death. Jesus would build His Church atop the gates of hell-He would bury them." So to echo IP, even if the could theory is wrong, what are you waiting for? Let's focus more on the mark of the lamb, not the mark of the beast.

Don’t ignore the prophetic words for the end of the world , God is really into prophecy 27% of the Bible is prophecy, that’s future history written in advance! Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Two questions dealing with the end and Jesus answers them in the next two chapters! The problem with pre-tribulation and not being ready, is you may think the antichrist is Jesus Christ because you may not know how Jesus returns, acts 1: 11 he comes back in the sky the same way he left! Now just after reading this doesn’t mean it’s solidified in your mind, because the stress bar none other, will happen during the last seven years of the great tribulation period!

No wonder then that despair was always my besetting sin. I'd never even considered this. This also partly answered my bitter question, "what the heck are we all here for if it's all going to fail in the end anyway until Christ finally comes back?" It never occurred to me to question the premise. I think of all your videos so far sir, this may have affected me most profoundly. Happy Easter.

Prior to being a post-millennialist I was a nihilist depressed at a dying sinking worldly ship and waiting for eminent death. Not bringing heaven to earth and bringing people to Christ. This obsession with a eminent apocalypse ruins the great commission. If I never became a post millennialist I'd stay home wait for apocalypse and never bring people to Christ who I have brought to Christ. Ultimately it's gnostic to wish to be in a spirit realm heaven. When In reality Christianity believes we are sent to the future earth which is heaven and this future earth is outside of time. The dots is easy to connect. It's a redeemed physical world. On earth but after the resurrection of the end days. "On earth as it is in heaven"

I’m noticing a trend. The Christianity I’ve known has been one where fear is often (not always) used as a motivator. Accept Jesus so you don’t burn in Hell, don’t take the Mark, etc. The Christianity I’m learning about now is one that is more more about love and glory. Accept Jesus and follow Him with all your heart, and your need for a transcendent purpose will be fulfilled. Don’t fear for the future, for Christ will be victorious. Etc. Interesting stuff IP.

Honestly yeah, the whole idea of eternal torture, terrified me. Any time I messed up, I'd be shaking like an abused spouse, begging God to forgive me. I was so afraid of sinning, I didn't want to do anything and I had sleepless nights thinking about all the people who would burn. So I'. so perplexed when people talk about Hell and it has no effect on them at all (because they deserve eternal torture), some even take joy in the idea of everyone who didn't agree with them writhing in agony for all eternity. @@InspiringPhilosophy The context doesn’t render your reading impossible, but IMO the claim that “Paul couldn’t be clearer” doesn’t seem as convincing if you include one preceding verse of context. To my eye, the passage’s chronology is: 1) Christ raised 2) Christ comes again 3) Those who belong to Christ raised 4) The end 5) Christ destroys all rule/authority/power 6) Christ hands the kingdom to the Father Significantly, this is the same chronology presented in Revelation 20. The persecuted believers experience the first resurrection and reign with Christ for 1000 years-then Satan brings all the opposing nations to the holy city, and Christ destroys them. Your chronology seems to insert 5 between 1 and 2. (Side note: How do postmillennialists interpret Rev 20:4-6? If the thousand years are happening now, shouldn’t the resurrection of the righteous have happened already?)

The Puritans of both Old and New England, Westminster divines, the Scottish Covenanters - all Postmillennialists. Calvin was hard to nail down on the subject, likely Amillennial? His Scottish disciple, Knox, was decidedly postmillennial. It is lodged in our Catechisms (Westminster.) I've read a good chunk of Banhsen and Gentry. I believe there are better representatives, as there are a few camps within us. The Historicist Postmil position best follows the Scriptures I would urge.

I am by no means an expert on eschatology and have a lot to learn but one thing I kept thinking about during this video is it almost seems too optimistic. Man is fallen and sinful. When given free will we have seen from the very beginning that man has a tendency to turn from God. Like I said, I don't know that much about eschatology, but it just seems to me this view tends to lose focus on that dark side of humanity. While God is all powerful and would certainly be able to spread His kingdom throughout the world, I'm not too certain this is the method that would be accomplished. I used to hold to a premillennialist view including a pre-tribulation rapture. However, this video as well as your videos on the rapture prompted me to do more research. I now believe that 1 Thessalonians 4:17 is talking about the second coming of Christ where we’re caught up in the clouds to meet Christ and then return in glory with Him. One thing that proved that for me was the Greek word apantēsis used in 1 Thess, referencing the practice at that time of people exiting the city to meet with someone of importance and then reentering triumphantly. Thank you for pushing me towards a more clear view of the prophesies (though I’m open to change if the evidence points elsewhere ever).

Well, in the REAL WORLD it's gonna have to be Jesus because the Ghostbusters are fictional characters. Ok, jokes aside. The whole point of Revelation seams to me that its just saying, "ok there is bad times, worse times, and THE WORST OF TIMES. But, its all going to be ok, because, "the end" was written before "in the begining" even began..." Only The Father knows the day and hour of the return of The Son. We can have our opinions, and conversations, but we should never let that divide us, it should bring us togther really if we are truly trusting of God, because only he knows then that time will come. Just think how stressfull "tax season" is; and thats just rendering unto Caesar whats his... Yikes. If we could calculate and influence the day Jesus comes back?!?!?!; well all hell might just break loose! 😊😁😉

- The Gospel of Jesus was originally one book, written by Lazarus in consultation with the Apostles [John 21:24] and published soon after Jesus left them on their own. The religion was hijacked by Rome, the Gospel was broken up scrambled adulterated into a bunch of competing narratives. Later four of those adulterated gospels were canonized with falsely ascribed authorship and a Gnosticism cover-story. It was the finding of an original Gospel of Jesus scroll in Jerusalem that gained the Knights Templar power over the Church and their eventual undoing when the church finally retaliated against them Friday 13th.

❤️👍 Awesome job! I’ve enjoyed much of your content…but I must say, just WOW. So inspirational. Such a breath of fresh air. I’ve always been a Christian. Despite a few unfortunate circumstances in my own life and concerns with respect to how various “authorities” have treated people I’ve loved and respected, I’ve never doubted the truth of the Biblical message. However, in more recent times the cacophony of modern media has often brought Emerson to my mind: “…where in Christendom is the Christian…” I look a various denominations and houses of worship with a fretting trepidation. I’ve never had a crisis of faith, but I’ve been so often plagued by a crisis of courage in that faith. To speak ill of any other human being, while holding to the Bible and Christianity in my mind, it makes me sick in heart and stomach. All my life I’ve heard people claiming Christian identity saying these people or those people are damned, cursed, or our enemies. Every one of those words feels like nails piercing my ears, and I need to go looking somewhere else. But, at the same time, argument of any kind makes me so anxious. In the context of any communion of Christians, that also makes me sick at heart. I believe there are so many people like me these days. All of us silent. All of us constantly struggling to untangle what it means to be meek and courageous. All of us crushed by the recognition that it is easiest to speak with absolute certainty when you understand little and empathize with few. “It’s a slow and gradual process, and it will be successful.” That is exactly what I needed to hear. I know that. I believe that the end is certain. God is outside time. For that which is undefined, cause and effect are meaningless. Incarnate in creation, time passes slowly. To the Creator, the Kingdom at the End of Time and the first will of Creation are a seamless unity. What is willed is done. I just hear that so seldom these days, and not with such conviction. Everything is desperate, so much crisis, all my life I’ve been told there is an imminent apocalypse. Yes, I’ve always told people, we are on the brink of apocalypse…and apocalypse of productivity and progress. Yes, I’ve always told people, all our institutions are in an unimaginable crisis…a crisis of wealth and prosperity. Never before has civilization so profoundly triumphed over material needs. There is more than enough to feed everyone in every way. Our ideologies of pragmatic necessity are profoundly inadequate to this incomprehensible triumph. I’m 50 years old now, and all of my life I’ve watched us drift aimlessly distracted by idle wants and snatching whatever our neighbor takes in hand…like toddlers that recognize an object exists and might be interesting only because another toddler picks that thing up. How much longer can people maintain this illusion to provide a target for acquisitive ambitions? “It’s a slow and gradual process, and it will be successful.” Thanks.

What about the words of Jesus reported in John 14… ? In your view of Jesus’ return, it seems like Christians are the ones preparing a place for Christ to reign by gradually assembling the world around the values of his kingdom… but in his words, he is the one preparing a place for the elected… Other verses suggest that believers are supposed to leave earth for heaven (for exemple 1 Thessalonian 4) in a really physical way… and that will be the goal of the second coming…

If anyone is frustrated and seeking peace regarding eschatology: Preterism (Jesus returned in 70AD) takes away all of the confusion. It was "the end of the age" when He returned. It was not "the end of the world." (We are alive today, and we are living proof of this) It was a "Jubilee" (Leviticus 25). God "hit the reset button" in 70AD. Let us now "Contend for the faith which was once for all (in 70AD) deliverd to the saints!" (Jude 3) Peace. God bless!

Dion Sanchez The problem is assuming biblical prophecy is conditional. If it was, the first disciples didn't see it that way as they took Jesus words about the temple destruction (signs for them ) and fled! Paul also said, the gospel HAS BEEN preached unto all the world. ESV present perfect tense.

I've been getting to the same spot for a while. I'm genuinely exploring how we, as the Body of Christ, are being misled and played by dispensationalism, which I haven't seen bear good fruit. I am wondering if we are delaying the return of Christ by our inaction.
@themarkfunction Жыл бұрын
I would recommend extreme caution when we declare that prophecy can be changed or not come about as it was given (around the 18-19 minute mark in this video). Deut 18:22 says "when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him." (ESV). There is a difference when a prophecy has an if/then condition. Jeremiah 18 is similar to the many conditional covenants given in the Mosaic Law: if you obey then I will bless, but if you do not then I will curse. But there are prophecies that do not have if/then conditions; these prophecies will come about as they are spoken by the Lord's messenger. One eschatological example is Ezekiel 48:8-14, in which the Lord God allocates an eternal inheritance to the Zadokian line of Levites. Verse 11 clearly says that this will happen (future) because of something the Zadokian priests had already (past) done. This prophecy will not change or be conditional. There are many others as well but I like to think about this one because it juxtaposes the truth of an eternal line of Levitical priests to the truth of the eternal Melchizadek priesthood of Jesus. It's not an either-or proposition, but a both-and. So many of our disagreements about eschatology come from whether we view things primarily as earthly OR heavenly, but the Scripture clearly teaches both-and (Matthew 16:9). We get similar hints for example when Jesus tells Pilate that His kingdom is not of this world or his followers would be fighting for him (John 18:36). We see Paul constantly teaching that this time of the church was a complete mystery to the Old Testament prophets, which every eschatological framework struggles with; how is it a mystery if there were so many prophecies about bringing in the nations? The answer is both-and! God's foolishness is higher than our wisdom! Definitely appreciate the emphasis on how pre-trib folks miss the point of the Great Commission and just focus on end times, though. That is definitely a distortion of the purpose of the Great Commission. I struggle quite a bit with the language of us "bringing in the kingdom". We are told to take the Gospel out, we are not told to "build the kingdom" or whatever. God through Christ does the building! It seems a bit western/American to me, that we are giving ourselves this participation trophy, but hey.

This view does not make sense to me in light of the OT prophets. If we only had the NT to analyze I think that it would be fair to hold this view. But we do not. We have an OT that has much to say on eschatology. This view does not seem consistent with Daniel, Ezekiel and the final chapters of Zechariah (which explicitly describes Jesus' return to earth and reign afterwards). Revelation is not "so cryptic that nothing is clear about it", as it is often portrayed. Much of it is allusions to the OT and the OT provides more clarity and context to interpret what is being said in Revelation. As do the gospels and the epistles. Daniel, Zechariah, Psalms 2, Matthew 24 + 26, Mark 13-14, Luke 21 and Revelation 12 are perfectly consistent with Paul's teachings about the nation of Israel in Romans 9-11. And these are all consistent if interpreted according to the pre-mill model. Zechariah 14, Psalms 2, Ezekiel, Luke 19, Matthew 13:36-43, Revelation 20 and Paul's teachings about Jesus' reign (presently and in the future) are all consistent with the pre-mill model of Jesus' return and reign. Pre-mill seems to have a larger explanatory scope across both Testaments, being consistent with God's old covenant promises to Israel and consistent with God's new covenant promises. Which were promised again to Israel but extended to the rest of the world, because God's heart is salvation for all mankind.
