Yup I went deep down that path and thought humans were all powerful, now I just laugh because it’s really absurd what the whole new age movement even involves and the belief system but humans are so self absorbed that we do want to believe we are so special and empathy, healers, etc opening third eyes and astral projecting and so on. I did it all quite easy and by accident at first so I’m not saying it isn’t possible but it’s a counterfeit way of being spiritual, a trick of the devil who pulls us away from God and makes us all think we are god in some way and in control just like the very beginning when Eve was deceived and fell for the same tricks that people are falling for today, Eve wanted to eat from the tree of knowledge knowing good and evil and to live forever which is pretty much what people are gaining in new age. Once I have my life to Jesus Christ and felt his mercy and grace it was a high of spiritual love I had never felt before. He is so patient with us all and waiting. God is so good praise Jesus

@Josh Don’t listen to us humans. This is why people leave the body. We all think we know and we argue about it vs showing Love. Most of us are still on our own journey. Pray Josh and ask Him to show you the way and then read the Bible and learn who Jesus is. I can’t explain it, but feeling guilt is no what happens...I am free from guilt, fear, sorrow, and filled with Joy...forgiving others sets you free, and then daily trials begin. Satan is in control of this world, so be prepared for anything, but above all things, trust in the Lord, and Do Not Be Afraid.

There was a moment in this video that i just uncontrollably burst into tears. I can't explain it. They were tears of joy and of sadness at the same time. Like the Holy Spirit was giving me an understanding of the joy to come and also the sadness of my own propensity to seek after joys of this world that do not satisfy and are so low compared to the joy of knowing God. All I could do was thank God for His goodness and love for me.

Let us construct a fable. Let us picture a woman thrown into a dungeon. There she bears and rears a son. He grows up seeing nothing but the dungeon walls, the straw on the floor, and a little patch of the sky seen through the grating, which is too high up to show anything except sky. This unfortunate woman was an artist, and when they imprisoned her she managed to bring with her a drawing pad and a box of pencils. As she never loses the hope of deliverance, she is constantly teaching her son about that outer world which he has never seen. She does it largely by drawing him pictures. With her pencil she attempts to show him what fields, rivers, mountains, cities, and waves on a beach are like. He is a dutiful boy and he does his best to believe her when she tells him that that outer world is far more interesting and glorious than anything in the dungeon. At times he succeeds. On the whole he gets on tolerably well until, one day, he says something that gives his mother pause. For a minute or two they are at cross-purposes. Finally it dawns on her that he has, all these years, lived under a misconception. "But," she gasps, "you didn't think that the real world was full of lines drawn in lead pencil?" "What?" says the boy. "No pencil marks there?" And instantly his whole notion of the outer world becomes a blank. For the lines, by which alone he was imagining it, have now been denied of it. He has no idea of that which will exclude and dispense with the lines, that of which the lines were merely a transposition--the waving treetops, the light dancing on the weir, the coloured three-dimensional realities which are not enclosed in lines but define their own shapes at every moment with a delicacy and multiplicity which no drawing could ever achieve. The child will get the idea that the real world is somehow less visible than his mother's pictures. In reality it lacks lines because it is incomparably more visible. So with us. "We know not what we shall be" [1 John 3:2]; but we may be sure we shall be more, not less, than we were on earth. Our natural experiences (sensory, emotional, imaginative) are only like the drawing, like pencilled lines on flat paper. If they vanish in the risen life, they will vanish only as pencil lines vanish from the real landscape, not as candle flame that is put out but as a candle flame which becomes invisible because someone has pulled up the blind, thrown open the shutters, and let in the blaze of the risen sun. C.S. Lewis

Whilst I’m not on board with all the statements here ( at least yet), I find it appalling that people are calling you a “false prophet” simply because they disagree on some small points. This is a Cancerous attitude in our community we need to stop, this is how we have 30,000 sects of Protestants. *Important correction* This comment was a year ago, and I said 30,000 sects because that’s something I’ve heard a lot. Since then I’ve learned that that’s not true at all and a misrepresentation. My apologies for that. As a protestant myself i’m embarrassed that I spread this myth. However thanks to God’s grace i’ve grown stronger in my faith & understanding of church history. Whilst I still maintain that there is SO much internal bickerings, unnecessary divisions, and disagreeing in the protestant community many times over menial disagreements (compared to caths & orthos) I should not have ill informedly spread a false myth.

Everyone is wise in their own minds. I fall short of this myself. In reality nobody truly knows it all and that’s the humbling stance we must take. When groups say that we are the one true church or denomination is a by product of the inept division the church constitutes. It makes one wonder how people can view Christianity to be true when they see it’s adherents divide amongst themselves. Yet the Bible says to always give a defense for your faith.

I was almost middle-age before knowing that anyone has ever said they might not like Heaven. Had never imagined such a view. The very *point* of Heaven is that it’s wonderful. It felt like hearing, “I don’t want good outcomes.” Seemed *definitionally* incoherent. Ive since heard it quite a few times. Endless joy and awe, the transcendent wonder of pure light and love and action in humble union with the Divine. Like an NDE times ten. Perfection. Or, in a word.. Heaven.

You are twisting his words. He said if people just killed themselves to hurry to get to heaven than it would be for selfish reasons and he said that because atheists often try and say “well if you really believe in God and heaven is so great than why don’t you just kill yourself than” and when the person doesn’t agree than the atheist is convinced they proved a point. He never talked about suicide from mental illness or depression and specifically was saying about doing it to go to heaven. Most people committing suicide don’t have strong faith so they are not doing it to hurry to get to heaven anyway and the ones that do have faith in God usually say their faith is what kept them from doing it because they were worried that they wouldn’t go to heaven if they did. Sorry you went through that but what he said had nothing to do with suicide caused by depression

humans are complicated there is no one reason someone kills themselves. we are simultaneously unique and common at the same time. we may travel different paths but our motivations are the same. No matter how much pain and suffering we go through there is always some other person who has either gone through more or the same and yet made a different decision. The lie we often tell ourselves that no one else has gone through or we do not have the strength to overcome the obstacles. the obstacles that are both real and painful ... maybe somehow we could have made a different decision.

I can't really get enough of this video! You know what makes God's gift of eternal life even more amazing, if it were possible, is the fact that we already know who our family in Heaven will be! We can see them now! And talk to them about it now! What else could melt away the pains and tragedies of this world if not that precious truth of eternal life; that it has already begun right here, right now and we can celebrate it anytime we like! "Take heart, for I have overcome the world." All tears will be dried. We can get a taste of it today if we seek out and share the joy of salvation with our eternal brothers and sisters today. My heart breaks for hard hearted skeptics who can only find reasons to deny a gift so perfect and so free. Therefore, WE MINISTER! Scholars and laymen alike, WE MINISTER!

They seemed to be absorbed in that light. We ran down the hill to see what was going on. We came to a wall of people twice as tall as us, wearing white robes; and then, we felt it. An incredible feeling of joy, emanating from the light's direction, that can not be described. One thing I can tell you for sure, such a feeling was so great, that you have no other desire but to enjoy it. @@aldrichsmith Thank you for your restraint, Aldrich! Actually, there have been other sects from the start, only they never got the ink of the CathOrthodox sects. Some were hounded to oblivion as heresies, while others remain to this day. I was baptized & raised Greek Orthodox, AND I attended Catholic masses into my 20s, married a Catholic & had to attend again in my 40s, & have studied both theologies & found them wanting, esp. Catholicism. Not that Protestants have it down, either. Many have apostatized & are terrible! So too some Anabaptist sects. Truth is, no congregation or sect is immune from egregious error, not even my beloved Mennonite Brethren. If we stray from Christ & His words, we become tinkling symbols. If we say we are Christians & take arms against the neighbor, we are liars. If we neglect the needy & hoard our incredible blessings, we are liars. If we become nationalists, we are in danger of the lake of fire. If we support heresies, we might as well reject Christ openly. I respectfully disagree with some of your points. Heaven will not be a place of sanctification. In order to reach that conclusion, you have to believe that we are going to enter Heaven sinful. We can only enter Heaven appearing perfect before the Lord with no more desire to sin. The process of sanctification is on earth and not in Heaven. Our spiritual salvation is complete upon our entering in the celestial presence of the Lord. Also God guarantees that when we enter heaven, he will wipe every tear and no more pain (Rev 21:4). Therefore, we will not experience any pain or suffering from our realization of what we did. We will however experience God's mercy and love in light of his forgiveness for all that we have done in the world we are in now.

One issue raised by Orthodox and Catholic Christians is whether anyone with any sin at all upon death can go to heaven. Of course, that depends on how you view the time aspect of how Christ forgives our sin. Again, while we in the comments section may not agree on what this purification or purgation is, I hope this vid still brings us closer to more fruitful dialogue about purgatory and sanctification. The doctrine is not unbiblical nor illogical, and it was certaintly not pulled out of thin air.
@InspiringPhilosophy
@InspiringPhilosophy 5 жыл бұрын
If that was the case, then Christ didn't die to make us spotless before God. The Bible actually says we will have to stand before God and give an account (2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:12). If you think that will be pain-free I have some bad news for you. Revelation 21 is talking about after the resurrection, not when we immediately die.

Wow. Cool. Got a response from InspiringPhilosophy. Thanks for the response. I view the white throne judgement as more of a rewards ceremony. Remember our sinful bodies are being resurrected after we spend time in Abraham's Bosom. So we are being purified physically with our sinful bodies. Its not so much that we are sinful the instant we are reunited with our bodies. Our souls already appear sinless before God. However, we must also physically appear sinless before God upon our resurrection.

I don’t understand how this isn’t your most viewed and popular video. Thinking about my 30 years so far and however much more there is to go, before being with Christ forever, seems like such a small footnote. Like 70-80 years seems like so much now, but when you realize that millions of years and beyond into forever is waiting for you, it makes you realize that your true purpose will be fulfilled after this life, and these 70-80 years will seem like a fading dream.

Hey IP. Merry Christmas. As you know, and even if you don't, I've been following you for some time and have watched nearly all of your videos, and, as a result, have learned a lot. I have to ask, "What is forgiveness?". I don't think I'm responsible for the salvation of those who've done me wrong, real or perceived. I'm responsible for my own salvation which means forgiving those who've done me wrong, real or perceived. The same goes for those I've wronged. In a way to forgive myself, by seeking redemption and salvation in the Resurrection of Christ, who suffered for my sins. I'm not trying to define Heaven or hell, nor am I trying to be "Christ-like". To be honest the thought of even trying to discern these possibilities is staggering beyond my ability. I think we have to be careful when trying to define such deep and profound mysteries that we do not venture into some "new age" concept of Christianity so in vogue today as many come to realize the incoherence of atheism but seem to accept the premises of atheist arguments that God and Christianity are evil. What about The Penitent Thief who is assured a seat at the Right Hand Of the Father? Does this not indicate a heavenly reward for the repentant? In the thief's case, by days end. Food for thought Brother. Peace and God Bless.

@leonarduskarolusiuliustant7498
@leonarduskarolusiuliustant7498 5 жыл бұрын
@Abraham Girt The basic concept of Purgatory is that sanctification has to continue after death. In the Catholic doctrine, it happens through a prosecution of penance (because Purgatory is for people who die in the state of grace - with their mortal sins having been remitted - but haven't finished penance yet; someone who dies in the state of grace without having to do any penance anymore goes to heaven immediately ), so it's still quite different from what IP affirmed in this video, but the key concept is there.

As traumatic as experiencing pain and cruelty can be, they will be swiftly forgotten when love and happiness come in their place. Sickness and painful injuries vanish into memory when the body heals. Trust and contentment can be rebuilt and regained when we find people who love us. These things can be seen in this life as well, so how much more it will be in the next world?
