Inspiring Philosophy did an excellent job giving the evidence and sources in response to Pagan accusations about Christmas, whereas the other side tend to give hearsay or just misinformation on the topic. The Orthodox Church doesn’t celebrate Christmas on January 7 because of a dispute on Christmas Day. It was always celebrated on December 25th. The reason it’s celebrated on January 7 is because the Orthodox world uses the Julian Calendar for their religious holidays. If you use the Julian calendar, then Christmas falls on December 25. But when the Julian calendar was replaced by the more accurate Gregorian calendar, Orthodox countries adopted it as their secular, business calendar, but kept the Julian for the religious holidays. The difference between the Julian and Gregorian calendar is 13 days. So, if you count 13 days from December 25, you’ll end up on January 7. PS, nowadays, not all Orthodox countries celebrate Christmas on January 7, but December 25 to be in synch with the rest of Christianity.

And yet both those calendars are wrong. Look up the Essenes and the lunar/Enoch calendar. You're also talking about Greek orthodox where many Greeks are agnostic or atheist, but are still going to church to get that flame to bring home and burn all night. I had friends where both parents and both of their fathers were athiests and the grandfathers still wanted their children "baptized" as babies in the church. Superstition runs high.

the Bible does describe the timing of Christ's birth. We can calculate this from context clues given in the Bible. As we know from basic human biology, the average child is born about 9 months after they are conceived. Christ's conception is something announced in the Bible, in the Gospel according to Luke 1:26-38. In these verses we see only one timestamp given: 6 months into the pregnancy of St Elizabeth, the mother of St John the Baptist. The Theotokos is informed that she will bear the Son of God. Mary gives her consent to this, and then she conceives. So far we have two timestamps: 9 months after the Annunciation, and 6 months after the conception of St John the Baptist. However, we don't yet have an exact date. In the scriptures, though, we are told when St John the Baptist was conceived. The Gospel of Luke 1:5-22 describes the conception of Saint John the Baptist as happening "of the course of Abia" This is a critically important point because this describes the jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, which happened in late September of 1 BC. How does that simple phrase describe Yom Kippur? Well, the Scripture records the Course of Abia as the eighth course among the 24 priestly courses for the Old Covenant Jews. (Nehemiah 12:17). Each course served one week in the temple for twice each year. The course of Abia served during the 8th week and the 32nd week in the annual cycle. This means that the priestly course of Abia (the course of St Zacharias) was serving during the 2nd week of the Jewish month of Tishri - the week of the Day of Atonement on the 10th of Tishri. Saturnalia was celebrated initially on December 17th, and expanded to Dec 23rd, which conveniently does NOT contain Christmas which is on December 25th. "But the word Christmas is of pagan origin" No it is not. It's etymological origins are "Christ's Mass." (Mass meaning missal or Liturgy) Other names like X-Mas derive from the Greek letter Χ which is the first letter of Christ's name in Greek (Χριστός) "But Christians do pagan things on Christmas, like put up Christmas trees" Christmas Trees were popularized by protestant Christian reformer Martin Luther, who is said to have put up the first Christmas tree when he placed lighted candles on an evergreen tree. Not pagan at all. While such an act and tradition had nothing to do with the Christians of the first 1500 years, this is still nevertheless a Christian origin to an already Christian holiday. "But Santa Claus is based on paganism" No he is not. While Santa has been sensationalized by western consumerist culture, he still has his origins in Christianity, being directly founded upon Saint Nicholas of Myra, a Greek Orthodox Bishop in Anatolia. This is where the traditions of stockings come from. Saint Nicholas, known for his charity, donated incredible amounts of gold to a father of three daughters who was about to be forced to sell his daughters into prostitution, placing this gold in their stockings. Saint Nicholas gave away everything he owned, and greatly enriched the people wherever he would go. This is where gift giving in connection to Santa Claus is based on.

After he defeated many nations and conquered them Nimrod claimed to be greater than the Supreme God. He commanded the whole empire to worship him as a god. After the death of Nimrod, Queen Ishtar commanded the whole empire to worship Nimrod as Baal the Sun god. Ishtar proclaimed that Nimrod was taken to the Sun, and that he had to be worshipped as the Sun god. Tammuz was the only child of Nimrod, and he was born on 25th of December. Tammuz was a great king who always defeated his enemies. However, he was just like his father Nimrod in doing great evil before God. Tammuz was killed by a wild pig, and after his death Queen Ishtar commanded that Tammuz had to be worshipped as the child of the god Baal who was Nimrod. From that time in history, it was Queen Ishtar who built a strong foundation of paganism which spread across the whole world that December 25th was a day to celebrate the birth of Tammuz, the child of the god Baal. This may be true, but does God approve of trees being used to worship Him ? Is there a command in the Scriptures allowing us to do so ? The answer is very simple, NO ! Isaiah 40:19 - 41:23 - 45:20 - 46:17 Psalm 115:4-7 Habakkuk 2:19 December 25th is always a Sun Baal worship holiday because of the birth of Tammuz (one of the Sun gods). Many people put the Sun, moon or the Star on top of their Christmas tree ! Some people will say that the Star on the tree represent the Star which appeared when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, but where does the Scriptures approve of such things ? Some people place an angel on their Christmas trees and claims that this is fine. According to the Bible, in 2 Corinthians 11:14, Satan Himself is transformed into an angel of light. Putting an angel on the Christmas trees is synonymous with placing a star on top of the tree, because both images represents light, or the Sun. But many people claim that the angel they place on the Christmas trees is a Heavenly one. In Exodus 20:4, God said: "Thou shall not make into thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in Heaven above" Angels are in Heaven above, and God forbids having images of anything that's in Heaven above for the purpose of worship. Heathens hate The Commandments of God because they want to worship their own gods without anyone condemning them with the Word of the Supreme God. In Rome, December 25th was always a date to celebrate the birth of the Sun god. In A.D 324, for the first time under the Roman Emperor Justinian (A.D. 527-565), December 25th was first recognized as an official Christian holiday. An old Babylonian festival played a major part in the choice of this particular day. Paul warns us about this evil festival by these words in 2 Corinth 11:3-4 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. After some extensive research on the topic (including listening to a few songs about it), I've come to the conclusion, *Krampus **_is_** pagan.* Not in the sense that said beastly's origin is from non-Christian lore, but rather it FOR non-christians (ie pagans). To put it another way, whereas Saint Nic is a representative for Christians during the winter holidays, Krampus is the rep for pagans this (most wonderful) time of the year... Alas because this comment is both days late & long-winded, I do not expect any greater replies. So traditions are newer than you think. This video reminds me of the idea of "ancient" traditions in student clubs. Traditions are handed down from one generation of students to the next. But since a generation for students is only like 4-5 years many of those traditions are less than 10 years old

Also, here's something from Paul, maybe you've heard of him? "Therefore, no one is to act as your judge in regard to food and drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon, or a Sabbath day --things which are only a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ." Col 2: 16,17. Also, those "pagan" practices to which you refer are modern day nonsense made up by fake pagans and goofy new agers.

There are plenty of people the world over who are not Christian nor do they follow any abrahamic religion. For instance, India, China, Japan, many African countries, and so on. China and India have the majority of the worlds population all on their own. To most Christians, they are pagan. So apparently, pagans are alive and well.

Discernment isn't seeing the difference between right and wrong, its seeing the difference between right and almost right. God decides how He is to be worshipped, and the entirety of christmas becomes moot because none of it is what God said is the way to worship Him. If it didn't matter, God would have accepted Cains offering instead of telling him that he was offering out of season.

On the Biblical Case of Holy Tradition: 2 Thessalonians 2:15 "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the *traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."* 2 Timothy 2:2 "And the things that you have *heard* from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also." 2 Timothy 1:13 "Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have *heard* from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 2:13 "For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you *heard* from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe." Saint Paul and all the other writers of Scripture were of course divinely inspired. Who says that their divinely inspired teaching is only restricted to written text? Certainly not the Scriptures. And if the teaching he passes on orally was the same as in his letters, it wouldn't make any sense for him to differentiate between the two in his epistles. Yet he does. Btw, check this one out: 1 Peter 1:20 "knowing this first, that *no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,"* And more: Acts 20:35 Saint Paul cites Jesus as 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” This is problematic for you, as you don't find Our Lord Jesus saying this anywhere in the Gospels. Meaning, it is indeed orally passed down (Tradition). In 2 Chronicles 29:25 we read that worship is constructed according to the commandment of David. We do not have written testimony of said commandment. David couldn't have invented said Worship himself, God doesn't like that as we know from Nabad & Abihu in Levitikus 10.

I know that a Jewish holiday Pesach, what some Christians celebrate is not appropriate because this holiday celebrates the liberation of Jews from the bondage of Egypt. We, Christians, suppose to know that we have an infinitely greater holiday to celebrate and that is the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which means freedom from the bondage of sin and salvation from hell. I think this is a modern problem, ancient people didn’t have these kinds of sensitivities. If you look at the similarities between the Torah and other pagan writings of the time, it’s wrong to assume that one stole from the other but the proper idea is that they had similar experiences and similar frame of mind when it came to the divine. You will find many similarities amongst religions but what makes the Bible special is how it took common narratives, ideas and concepts and and elevated it to the eternal truths of the Creator. Torah is a prime example of this, but also in the Christian age we see inculturation happening and not all ideas were redeemable. The idea is that even pagans held to some truth and those ideas were redeemable but many things were also discarded. If you think that the Bible doesn’t have any similarities with pagan culture around the time it was written you’re faith is going to be shaken. Eternal truths will always come from God ultimately but the tools to communicate those truths more often than not are human elements common to the time of when the message was communicated.

Beautiful Christmas traditions! I know that we are after Christmas but I would like to share with you a beautiful tradition from Poland. Christmas wafer :) I think the best will be if you go to Wikipedia , there is a very good description of it and it meaning The only thing missing there ( Wikipedia ) is the mention that there are 2 types of wafers we use. 1 White, for people and another pink, that we share with our pets in the hope that they will be healthy and happy in the New Year. No, traditionally Gift Giving is done during The Epiphany of the Lord which is Jan 6 which is the day the Church celebrates Christ revealing himself to the 3 wise men. Really Big in latin countries, its called los reyes magos, the three wise kings. Usually another tradition that day is to eat what is known as a "rosca" which is a bread that is ring shaped. You cut a piece and in the bread there are small figures of Jesus, if you get the figure you have to make Tamales or just some sort of food on Feb 2, which is Candlemas which is the day the Church celebrates the presentation of the Lord, when Mary and Joseph took Christ to the temple (Luke 2:22-40)

Whether Christmas is pagan or the traditions are more modern, it's way too easy to celebrate Christmas without once hearing the name of Jesus. I think this is why so many people ask about the true origins of Christmas. Outside of the nativity scene nothing in Christmas is related to Jesus. It's more about the traditions and myths we have developed around the winter season. This video has not convinced me that Christmas is anymore about Jesus than I had previously thought.

You've certainly done more research than many, and I too find it irritating when people assume a pagan origin without proof. However you have not done a proper survey of the seasonal traditions and some undoubtedly are of pagan origin when you compare them to equivalent traditions for eg. You say krampus is not from Scandinavia while ignoring an obvious parallel of the Julbok. Julbok is not a devil but is a goat man who issues presents and has no connection to Saint Nicholas. The image of father Xmas you showed from 19th century England depicts him riding a goat! Why? The goat motif is found across Germanic speaking Europe. In late Anglo Saxon England there were laws against dressing as cows and deer during Yule as it was considered a part of pagan practice. Yule logs are not attested in paganism but the two month Yule tradition is pagan and we are certain it was celebrated for the two midwinter moons because of the very sources you actually cite. We know from Norwegian, Anglo Saxon and Byzantine sources what Yule looked like and it involves a feast of pork, a swearing of oaths on a pig, a horse sacrifice and masking. Across England the Yule ham was preserved as was the masking custom . In Oxford university the boar's head is still served at Xmas and they sing the boar's head carol which goes back to the Yule pig on which oaths were sworn prior to its sacrifice. We also see that in 15th century England they elected a lord of misrule, where a village idiot was made the king which is an obvious continuation of the Roman tradition at saturnalia in which slaves ordered their masters and roles were reversed. Also what do you make of Wassailing? Obviously singing to a tree and pouring libations to it for fertility is forbidden in the Abrahamic religions and the word wassail is of pagan origin. I'm glad you debunk some myths but you seem to be in denial of you think that there is no paganism in Xmas

The connection you are trying to make is too vague. Tanya Gulevich in "Encyclopedia of Christmas & New Year's Celebrations," that we do not really know where the Yule goat comes from. To quote, "Some authors contend that the Yule goat originated in pre-Christian Yule celebrations. There are traditions of 12 days of Christmas or 25 days of Christmas but I know of no two month time periods associated with Christmas. As for eating pork, that is way too general to make a connection. Pigs are easy to raise and are a common meat source across multiple cultures. People often celebrate with pork, so what? When it comes to the Lord of Misrule tradition, again, there is not a lot of good evidence it goes back to Saturnalia. Gulevich does not suggest it goes back that far and likely has a medieval origin. She says, "The custom reached the height of its popularity in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and declined in the seventeenth century. Some writers believe he evolved out of the mock bishops associ- ated with the Feast of Fools. Others guess that the King of the Bean, already popular in parts of continental Europe, may have inspired the creation of this custom" (437). She notes it resembles the ancient custom, but there is too much of a time gap in between the Christmas and Saturnalia custom. The Saturnalia version died out centuries before the Christmas one had its brief popularity. Correlation is not causation. If you think the Lord of Misrule tradition goes back to paganism you need more evidence to form a connection. The English word “wassail” comes from the Middle English phrase "wes heil," which means “be whole” or “be healthy.” I can find no evidence it goes back to paganism and the sources on it come from the middle ages. The earliest i have seen in the 13th century.

Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December, as the Shepherds were living outside with the flocks (Luke 2:8). In Israel, by winter the flocks were usually wintered and inside in the sheepfold (John 10:1-22). If elements Revelation 12 apply to Christ's birth (alignment of the constellations) then a September date is what you're looking at. More importantly, Jesus _never_ asked his followers to remember the day of his birth (Luke 22:19). Remember the rule, don't go beyond the things written, stick to what we had in the beginning (1 Corinthians 4:6, 1 John 2:24, 2 John 9). I don't care what excuses and origins are provided to justify various elements of Christmas. The plain fact of the matter is, nowhere were we asked to celebrate this, (Jeremiah 7:31). Just stick to what the master asked us to do. Don't be like Martha (Luke 10:38-42), going beyond what was requested her at the expense of others. Stop trying to justify unbiblical practices.

Scandinavia has an old Julebukker and Nuuttipukki tradition that is very similar to the Central European Krampus tradition, but only superficially. In Scandinavia, group of young man, who was dressed in sheep skin, bark mask and goat's horns, walked from house to house asking if they had food and beer to offer. And if the house had nothing to offer, this Julebukker made little pranks for the house's people. In old Scandinavian folklore, the goat was an old symbol of fertility and therefore entertaining the Julebukker was believed to bring good luck for the next harvest season. And the origin of the Christmas tree is from the Baltics. Estonia and Latvia argue over which country had the first Christmas tree ever. But later Hanseatic traders spread the Christmas tree tradition to Germany, where it became popular. It is said that when Luther became acquainted with the Christmas tree, he rejoiced and made the tree a symbol of the tree of life, giving it a new meaning. And originally, it was an old tradition in Baltics to burn the whole Christmas tree during the winter solstice, but then the guild of unmarried merchants came up with the idea that it would be safer to decorate the bruce so that burning of this tree would not endanger the nearby buildings. Therefore, candles, roses and straw are the oldest decoration of the Christmas tree.

A slight observation: You are slightly in error when saying that Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on the 7th of January. They celebrate it on December 25th but use the (older) Julian Calendar, as opposed to the Gregorian one. So it is unfair to say that they have a tradition of celebrating Christmas on a date different than December 25th. Thank you.

it comes down to who gets to decide how we worship God. Is it us or is it God. If It is us, then God is out of line Cain and for Aarons sons. If It is God who says how we are to worship Him, Then He would have put the customs of Christmas in scripture, and He would have set apart and commanded the day's observance. We could burn a log named after a pagan god, and engage in the customs that the pagans readily lay claim to - all the while ignoring that as proof while saying that their is no proof- but I think of Malachi 2:3 and it being a provocation of God to say "we're going to do our thing our way in the customs that we like, and we will worship in our own way". That's cute. Here's a counter: Jesus Christ Himself celebrated a man made holiday. John 10:22,23 has Jesus celebrating the Festival of Dedication aka Hanukkah 🕎. No matter how you slice it the Festival of Dedication is a man made holiday, not one instituted by God in the Torah and before Christ's institution of the New Covenant. I'm sure you can come up with some kind of mental gymnastic for why Jesus, Who knew no sin, fulfiller of the law, the perfect Lamb, is guilty of the deed you insist is wrong and exactly as you described it. It was a completely human made affair during Solomon's (a king made famous for his paganism) reign. Or is your -cherry picking- criteria simply if it's _mentioned_ in the Bible? Lots of paganism is mentioned in the Bible, I guess that's okay then 😉 And you're also wrong because Solomon's Dedication would have been in the 900s BC; the Feast of Dedication, aka Hanukkah, several centuries later to commemorate the Maccabean revolt and the dedication of the temple after it had been desecrated by Antiochus. So no, you just found a passage you thought you could use and completely ignored actual history. And just to drive home that the dedication you mentioned isn't the same as what is celebrated by Jesus in John 10; 1 Kings 5 and 2 Chronicles 8 both mention that the temple was dedicated by Solomon in the 7th month of the ecumenical year, Ethanim, which is in the fall between September and October during the already, God ordained, Torah listed holiday of the Feast of Tabernacles. John 10 is *not* the Feast of Tabernacles but is the Feastival of Dedication which John explicitly states is in the winter, a month or two later ie Hanukkah. Nice try on the mental gymnastics but you didn't stick the landing. Next time actually check to see if the holiday is actually the same one! 🤣

I'm glad you've researched this because I had been convinced bringing in a pine tree into the house is = to celebrating yule = to worshiping Odin. Before this brainwashing some groups love to exercise on Christians (especially Catholics like me), many years ago, my German friend had actually told me a story with which she'd grown up, that I really liked and chose to believe: she said the tradition of lighting up candles on the branches of pine trees (replaced with electric lights once invented and for safety reasons) for Christmas came from the end of the 30 years (religious) war. As the end was declared in a town on Christmas Eve night, the two rivaling bands hung their weapons from the branches of an enormous pine tree and lit a bonfire, happy to putting an end to the war. The Treaty of Westphalia was signed not long after. So, the tradition was more of a putting aside differences to celebrate the birth of Our Lord and Savior. I'd much rather believe that tradition 😊

how about this reason. That is a holiday celebrated by the world. God says in Amos 3:3-5 two can not walk together unless they agree. So if you agree with the world which is against God you will do as they do. Jeremiah 10:1-4 speaks on the tradition of Christmas trees and how not to partake in their customs.James 4:4 be not friends with the world for its in enmity with God. You are serving the world by partaking in its customs making you an adulterer to God. Hence why he calls Israel whores in Isaiah 1:21. 1John 2:13-15 tells us that we are not to love the world nor the things in the world. Again God did not appoint these holidays for us so to love these customs means the love of God is not in us John 17:15-16 we are not taken from the world nor it’s evil which we know is rooted in the customs of this world. We are not of this world hence Romans 12:2 which says we are not to be conformed to this world. Colossians 2:6-8 We are to walk in Christ rooted and built up as we have been taught not by philosophy or vain deceit after the rudiments of this world. 2 Thessalonians 2:15 We are to stand firm in what the Bible teaches not the world and there is only one verse on Christmas and many on worldly traditions both pointing towards a bad notion. Matthew 15:1-3 speaks on the Pharisees approaching Christ on washing hands and Jesus responds why do you transgress the word of God for the sake of tradition. Back to Jeremiah chapter 10 in verse 5 he acknowledges the Christmas tree to be a god. Little g of course for there is but one God. Now what is the curse for putting a cursed idol or false god in your home??? Deuteronomy 7:26 breaks it down quite clear and to all OT haters understand the OT God makes a promise with his people and in the NT he fulfills his promise. I believe, according to Gods words in the text we are given, A God who Shall not lie nor change his mind has spoken it and said it so he will do it and it will come to pass.(Numbers 23:19) And is the same God yesterday today and forevermore Hebrews 13:8. I think all of this is great work IP. Personally, I don't really think it matters if many Christmas practices actually did have pagan origin, (maybe with the exception of the date). For example, if a false King claimed the throne, his subjects would hail the false king as the true king. They would toast in his name, praise his rule and honour his regalia as symobols of being their true king. However, lets say it was then later discovered that this king was a false king, that he had schemed and mainupulated his way to the throne and the people were shown the true king. The people would throw out the false king, they would spit on him for claiming to be the true king and condemn him for his lies. Now the true King sits on his throne. The people would toast in his name, praise his rule and honour Him as their true King. The throne the true King sits on is the same as the old, the toasts the same, his praise the same and his regalia the same as the one of the false king. However, the fact that the old false king had these things does not make these things wrong in and of itself. These practices are merely customs to honour something good and true. It is not the customs that is at fault, but the whether the customs are adressed to something good and true or something false. For example, in Norway it was customary at the old Yule Blót to toast to the gods, Odin and Thor. When Norway was Christianised, Yule moved to 25th of December and Yule became the name for the Christmas celebration, the toasting practice was continued, but instead of toasting to Odin and Thor, it was to toast to Jesus and Mary. I quite frankly, see nothing evil or sinful in this practice. Before, the toasting was made to false dieties, after it was made to honour what was good, holy and true. Sometimes practices are wrong in and of themselves, but unless by Divine Command we are forbidden from practicing these customs, it is good to honour something as true and to celebrate it. tl;dr The fact that some customs are pagan in origin does not make them evil when used to celebrate God

how about this reason. That is a holiday celebrated by the world. God says in Amos 3:3-5 two can not walk together unless they agree. So if you agree with the world which is against God you will do as they do. Jeremiah 10:1-4 speaks on the tradition of Christmas trees and how not to partake in their customs.James 4:4 be not friends with the world for its in enmity with God. You are serving the world by partaking in its customs making you an adulterer to God. Hence why he calls Israel whores in Isaiah 1:21. 1John 2:13-15 tells us that we are not to love the world nor the things in the world. Again God did not appoint these holidays for us so to love these customs means the love of God is not in us John 17:15-16 we are not taken from the world nor it’s evil which we know is rooted in the customs of this world. We are not of this world hence Romans 12:2 which says we are not to be conformed to this world. Colossians 2:6-8 We are to walk in Christ rooted and built up as we have been taught not by philosophy or vain deceit after the rudiments of this world. 2 Thessalonians 2:15 We are to stand firm in what the Bible teaches not the world and there is only one verse on Christmas and many on worldly traditions both pointing towards a bad notion. Matthew 15:1-3 speaks on the Pharisees approaching Christ on washing hands and Jesus responds why do you transgress the word of God for the sake of tradition. Back to Jeremiah chapter 10 in verse 5 he acknowledges the Christmas tree to be a god. Little g of course for there is but one God. Now what is the curse for putting a cursed idol or false god in your home??? Deuteronomy 7:26 breaks it down quite clear and to all OT haters understand the OT God makes a promise with his people and in the NT he fulfills his promise. I believe, according to Gods words in the text we are given, A God who Shall not lie nor change his mind has spoken it and said it so he will do it and it will come to pass.(Numbers 23:19) And is the same God yesterday today and forevermore Hebrews 13:8. This is more than enough reason not to celebrate Christmas as well as any other worldly gathering/arrangement/ celebration etc. Instead keep Godly precepts and tradition.

We are indeed forbidden to practice those customs you mentioned. Deut 12:30-31 makes it very clear. Remember that the Israelites worshipped the golden calf while at the same time Aaron proclaimed a "festival to the LORD" (Ex 32:5). In their hearts and minds this was a proper way to worship God, however, for the Almighty this was a great abomination.

Very crafty presentation. Its interesting how you pick and choose the information and evidence to support your thesis and neglect all the evidence that directly connects the Christmas celebration to sun god worship. The evidence is out there, I have seen it with my own eyes but if the evidence is contrary to your thesis, it makes sense to ignore it. Nearly every sun god from different cultures have their birthdays on Dec 25. Why would you want to celebrate the birthday of the Savior of the World on the same day that the nations have celebrated the sun for thousands of years? This is equivalent to celebrating your spouse’s birthday on your ex’s birthday. Good luck with that. The bible never commands to celebrate the birth of Christ, but if you really want to celebrate it, why not celebrate it when Christ was actually born on? According to the chronology of the Gospel, he was born during the biblical feast of Tabernacles, when Word was made flesh and tabernacled among us per the words of John. Last point, the Christmas connection to paganism is so clear for those who have eyes to see to the point that our nations forefathers made Christmas illegal in the States due to its pagan roots and punishable by jail if you were caught celebrating it. Its was many years later when immigrants began to celebrate it until it became something normal in our country and here we are today. The truth will set you free!

Wrong. The fur tree with it's triangular shape symbolically stands for the Trinity. Decorating the tree stems from the tradition of Adam & Eve plays, in which they would decorate the tree with Apples (now seen in the red bulbs) among other things, to represent the paradise tree. Santa Klaus is a postmodern inversion of Saint Nicholas, this much is true.

On the other hand there are a plethora of examples of pine trees being used and recognized in pagan rites and as a fertility symbols. Likewise Santa Claus has absolutely zero to do with the message of Jesus or his birth if he was in fact born on December 25th at all. Santa Claus is a distraction from the message of Jesus plain and simple.
