I wanted to mount mine to the mirror stalk on my R1250RS and the clamp was too large. I made some rubber bushings out of 5/8" ID automotive coolant hose that helped a lot. Cut a 1" long piece, then slit the side of that to make a C. Put that over the mount point then the clamp over that. It helped a lot.

Good thinking on the home made accessories to make it fit. Sometimes it can be a real pain in finding somewhere to mount the camera. 🤙

I got the mounts from insta, thought it was crap, wouldn’t stay tight and it is not gripping also be careful you don’t damage the paint depending where you mount. I cut an old inner tube to aid grip

I try and stay away from the painted parts of the bike if possible. Obviously most the bikes I ride aren’t mine 😁🤙

I do have the lense protector now yes mate. I watched some videos before buying them and they said they couldn’t see any difference in the quality of the video. Me personally, I can see a slight difference. There is a slight stitch line/mark on some of it as well. I didn’t go official insta ones so they may be a little bigger than those ones. Next time I’ll buy the expensive insta ones and see how I get on with them. 🤙🤙

at 2:00 you say always have a lens forward. why? i would have thought having it side on would prevent bugs hitting the lens and be more aerodynamic... less chance of wind blowing it over.

It's a good question mate. The reason for it is video quality. where the two lenses meet at the 180 point you get a stitch line, if you use a case this will be even more noticeable. So if you have it side on to you, where you are close to the camera you may get a slight distortion down your body. Along with the sun hitting potentially one lens and not the other you can get a slight colour difference where the lens with the sun is adjusting differently to the dark side lens. so pointing the lens at the main subject is preferable when using it in POV camera. If the camera is far enough from the bike that there won't be a noticeable stitch mark as shown in the video then it won't matter how the camera is positioned, and then you can angle it for best aerodynamics :) Hopefully that makes sense mate. Happy to try and explain it differently if you need me to.

@@midlife-crysis It does look cool, I wonder how the sensor will handle bike vibrations. I dont own one so can't properly comment. But it can give some cool shots for sure.

You shouldn't use selfie stick on motorcycle. Insta360 have special "action selfie stick", which is reinforced @ the bottom and top. Ordinary selfie stick is not made for vibrations coming from action sports.

why dont you just stop somewhere nice and draw a lovely picture.you could show us your picture on your next video.no one draws these days,its all cameras and photos.very informative video though.ive never given it a thought til now.
