I really love the flexibility that a flip screen provides. Instead of having to just eyeball or wing a shot I can actually see it in real time. A huge upgrade in my eyes!

The wind guard is a great idea. Now we can use the built-in audio directly, no need for cold shoes, dead cats, or mic adapters anymore! Yay for not carrying around extra accessories.

Thanks for the video, your family look amazing and its great to see how a most, if not all people, will use this particular camera as a robust waterproof holiday 'video' camera, but they couldn't market it as that - far too 90's. It produces amazing footage and has some great features, but a true 'action' camera to me is something that you can crash on your bike using or attach to a go-kart and bounce all over a farmers field with or scramble up a mountain or jump out of a plane with or fall on your arse in the snow and nothing will flap open and snap off. And now it has that 'Must be taken off in wet weather or under water wind muff' as something else that you will lose, either that one or the non-sponged filled version... 🙏

Adding the wind guard was a great idea on Insta360’s part. Now I can use the built-in audio directly without needing a cold shoe and mic adapters anymore. And without sacrificing the audio quality either.

10-bit can help you preserve more detail than 8-bit. To be honest, in my experience the difference isn't that noticeable unless you’re REALLY looking closely.

Footage is gorgeous. I have the go 3s and am always impressed with the footage out of camera. However the DJI Action 5 wins for me because of the mic connection with DJI mic 2.

Ace Pro 2 can also do the mic connection with the DJI Mic 2 and same with the new GoPro. The DJI though can do two mics at once, which is pretty dope!

Def looking forward to the comparison with the DJI Action 5... I think the Ace Pro 2 is better tech but how well it looks like on my face will be a huge consideration. I'm 50 and I have freckles and depending on the lighting I can look anywhere from 38 - 58 and that's not a beauty mode thing. It's a contrast, hdr and sharpening thing...in the same lighting.

I find the footage out of this camera to be a bit blurry; not as sharp as what you get out of a DJI Osmo Action or even a recent GoPro Hero.

Ive had gopros and i got ace pro 1. Finally got dji action 5 pro. Even after all the ace pro 2 reviews im glad i went with DJI. Its pretty similar but smaller camera with Mic 2 working dirctly with it. Game changer to not have to have the battery door open to connect a mic. As like ace pro 1 i find ace pro 2 footage still does not look natural compared to the other cameras.

Hahaha what’s the use case for that? In general, you’ll want plenty of light to be using the 2x because it’s not quad pixel bining

@@DavidManningvlog Using an action cam for back up 4k 60 footage of hour long volleyball games, 3 in a day. Some of these venues played in are terribly lit, but for the most part, pretty decent lighting just artificial. I honestly probably would never punch all the way in to 2X but with the Action 5 you lose quality very quickly the minute you digital zoom. For my use case, that is where all these cameras fall short. An iPhone is still the Goat for this sort of recording, which we use, but it’s nice to have a redundancy as well. That’s why battery life is important too. I can record 3 hour long matches in day now with the Action 5. I could power bank the Ace2 but nice if so don’t have to. Guess I’m going to have to just buy one and test it.

You can see colour banding from the 8 bit. I think yhe 10bit from dji osmo action 5 pro is better for videography. I would rather have 1 billion colour instead of 16 million.

Gahhh, this one is so tough! Normally, I would totally agree with you, but man with KZbin’s compression algorithm, you’ll even see banding on my Sony A7Siii 10-Bit 4:2:2 footage. I think if you’re delivering via something other than social media, you’re right that you can see the difference, but KZbin and Instagram compress footage so hard that it’s almost impossible to see the difference between 8-bit and 10-bit on here. I’ll get a comparison video up for you to check out soon👍
