I think this camera is for people with very specific needs. I do think 2024 releases of all 3 are going to be insanely good and competitive. For me personally i can not stand editing and I need it as simple as possible. I also will need good night view. So The pause and record function for me will be huge and its easy app to put the video together and the nightmode. To bad i need a camera now lol. Next year is going to be the year.

yeah it definitely has some nice features that make the user experience a lot more easier with the editing side of things so if that’s what ur looking for then yeah this camera is for u! obviously this is only version 1 of the camera so will be interesting to see what comes next

Totally agree with this statement above !! I’ve been after a new action camera for years but I’ve been holding out for a better GoPro which still haven’t happened yet and I’m still using a GoPro Hero 9 which to this day works great, the stability and picture quality still blows most cameras out of the water !! My problem is I’ve no idea what camera to upgrade too lol I love the look of the DJI Pocket 3 but it’s expensive, not waterproof and I won’t be able to film on rides, I like the look of the Action 4 but the Ace Pro looks better, however I’m not too sure about the flip up screen which is a gimmick and none removable lens 🤷🏼‍♂️ hopefully these issues will be resolved later in the next generations

@@Coaster_Crazy after a lot of research the fuss over mom removable is just typical modern behavior by people over reacting . All un paid reviewers, small to big day they have never broke a lens in there life. The lens is good for blogger type people. I'm going to be using you for camping streams so I think it'll be good. But I think they should also add a second screen. Anyways. Mine should be arriving any days

you do the testing about this camera. you should use only internal mic for viewers to hear the real sound while riding the bike. it doesn't matter the outcome but we want to hear as it is. that is testing

Thank you for the great effort and honest comments. I have a Sony A7m3, Insta360 X3, Gopro Hero 4 (yea, 4 only 😂) and DJI Mic. I am looking for a handy cam to use altogether (beware of the 7-year old tech lover daughter) for family events like tracking, fishing, perhaps swimming. So, I focused on Sony A7C2 and DJI Pocket 3. After watching many videos about the P3, I began to feel like I could try to ignore how (relatively) professional A7C2 is. Though; there are a number of customers who have issues with the flipping/rotating screen on the DJI Pocket 3. Personally, I don't either like that its battery requires replacement at the factory. These reasons made me opt for Ace Pro. I do agree with you about the lens cover on the Ace Pro. That is not a dealbreaker for me. On the other hand, it is so obvious that you are much happier with the Pocket 3 than you are with the Ace Pro. Long story short, which one would you buy in my situation? A7C2, DJI Pocket 3 or Insta360 Ace Pro?

no problem 😎 glad u liked it!… I can only speak for the ace pro and pocket 3 as I don’t have the A7C2, but for what ur describing I would defo put the Sony down and choose either the ace pro or p3… they both have there pros and cons, u mention swimming so for that u will defo need something like the ace pro as the p3 isn’t water proof… but u also mention tracking and for that the p3 would be better. I guess it also comes down to the overall user experience on them both and the actual look of the videos they both give out, which do u prefer. I would personally choose the p3 over the ace pro but that’s not to say the ace pro isn’t a great camera, I just prefer the overall experience and look of the videos and sound from the p3

You guys all forget that GoPro had tons of hardware and software issues with a lot of their early launches, DJI Action 3 had their lens focus issues. I have them all, every company especially with new launch models will have their 'thing', let's not be too harsh now lol

Amazing, detailed review. Is the close focusing issue real? You look sharp at arms length which is good, but some say you have to hold the ace pro 2 feet away to get any sharpness on face.

Hi, i ordered this Insta 360 Ace pro stand alone so it is without SD Card with it and while searching for a good SD card, i read about SD Card compatibility for this amazing camera and it says we need a specific SD Card (A1/A2 UHS-I Micro SD cards with a V30 or above speed class and exFAT format) and If your microSD card doesn't fit the requirements, your footage may be interrupted, freeze, stop recording or damaged. I wonder what SD card are using? Great test by the way.

thanks 😎 so, great point u mention but I was using the correct SD card which is the same SD cards (V30, A2) I use for pretty much all my cameras including previous insta360 ones… what happened in this video hasn’t actually happened since that day so I’m taking it as a one off which was obviously really bad timing considering I was shooting a real life review of it 😂

Amazing footage from the Ace Pro and I’ve just subscribed 👌🏻 amazing review and vlog dude !! Ps I’ve been going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland for years and never had issues with filming there but this year they have massively clamped down on people filming there so I completely boycotted the place and so did one of my friends who’s a huge funfair vlogger, it’s such a shame as I’ve seen so many people’s videos where security have told them they can’t film or not allowed in with a camera at all

The low light video quality is quite good for me..at least for viewing on smartphone screens. I watched some other youtuber's low light footage on PC screen..it's much more blurry & noisy. I don't know if he didn't shoot it right or it's just the way it is.

yeah shooting in the pure video mode which is the new low light mode really helps reduce the noise and grain and make the overall image clearer in low light

after a recent firmware update, there is now an option to connect it to ur computer and use it as a webcam. and yes, there is a creator combo available, in fact there’s a few different combos available so might be worth u having a look on there website and seeing what’s included in each 😎

You did a great job of keeping me away throughout the entire very long video. 😃 I've never seen a bench that was closed before so that was educational. And the clock was really awesome. The detail in that so that it even shows him walk away to "paint" the other side. I think your opinion of the camera as an "action" camera is spot on. Was there any input from insta360 about the "cricket freeze" in the camera and was that running the latest firmware? Pitty about no filming allowed. glad u enjoyed it 😎 yeah they both have there pro’s and cons… it ultimately comes down to what ur gonna be shooting, if its more heavy stuff then yeah the ace pro would hold up better for that but if it was normal vlogging or cinematic type stuff then I would defo choose the pocket 3. Plus the overall image quality of the pocket 3 during the day or night is so much better than the ace pro in my opinion but the cool AI features of the ace pro do make it a fun camera to play around with and create cool things

@@markr041 Indeed, it does, BUT the super sad part is then when paired as a BLUETOOTH Mic with DJI Action or iPhone the 32bit INTERNAL FLOAT recording is disabled. IF they can fix that, then it would solve all problems. They have really stepped up the low light performance of an action cam. I can't even see the lights jitter. I'm surprised that Insta was the first company to figure it out. I would have guessed Apple would have done it first with the iPhone. Google is supposed to be coming out with "Night Sight Video" for their Pixel 8 Pro phone this month so I'm curious how that is going to look. I'm also curious that security staff at the theme park considered an action cam a professional camera, especially when we have cellphones that can record pro res in 4K 60 now. I hope this isn't a trend.

yeah the new low light mode is great! and as for apple getting on board with it… well u know we’ll be waiting a while as they take so long to implement things that other devices have been able to do for some time 😂 …the security in the park were just being difficult, I saw about 5 other people walking round vlogging with no issues

tbh I’m not blown away by the overall image quality… it’s definitely better than previous insta360 cameras but I dunno what it is when I look at some of the clips I just think hmmm, this doesn’t look great, especially round the edges or in shadows and sometimes the colors are way to vibrant especially as u can’t turn hdr mode off. I’m pretty sure there’s a face focusing issue cos everything around me looks in focus but my face looks a bit blurry in some shots

Your video provides much more balanced info than all those KZbinrs who are provided with free Ace Pro cameras. Thanks for honest video showing pros, cons and lock up noisy cricket issues. At 17:25 or about, one can clearly see the benefits of the Pocket 3 vs the Ace Pro and DJI Action 4 with larger sensors. The DJI Action 4 and Insta360 Ace Pro have fixed focal lengths... Apparently they are set to minimum focus at 40cm DJI and 60cm Ace Pro respectively per their disclosed specs but it seems to me the point of minimum focus is longer than this. Note I don't have either DJI Action 4 or Ace Pro, but have the Pocket 3. I am basing this observation from your video and other videos on both cameras on youtube. I am looking to get action cam for wet winter rainy days where Pocket 3 not most suitable. Anyway, this fixed focus point is why your face always seems out of focus and blurry while background sharp focus. For vlogging the Action 4 and Ace Pro really need a close focus diopter type filters to get closer focusing on a vlogger's face, or one needs to use a longer selfie stick. thank u 😎 I did think that but even with it being cold it shouldn’t have started making that noise, people take action cameras to much colder places than london like ski slopes and u wouldn’t expect that to even happen there cos these cameras are built to withstand cold temperatures but these things do happen now and again and it hasn’t happened since so 🤞🏾 it was a one off… it’s still a decent little camera that can create some really cool unique things and like u said, it’s super easy to use which makes it great for beginners! good luck with it 👍🏾

why not people doing test on 60 fps ? maybe the quality of the smoothness are different ? 24 or 25 when panning left or right, it is choppy on big screen TV

yeah I don’t shoot in 60fps unless I’m gonna slow it down. 25 is my preference when shooting normal video. yes it can look choppy when panning left or right but if u do it slowly it does help eliminate the choppiness

​@james.loxton Why do you prefer 25 fps? Computer monitors have refresh rates that are multtiples of 30. And, given the high shutter speeds in bright light, the motion at 25 fps will be stuttery. At 60 fps the motion looks smooth even at high shutter speeds. Please defend shooting at 25 fps.

It’s one rule for one and one for another !! So many people have had problems filming at Winter Wonderland this year, some have been told they can’t come in with a camera even left in their bag and some have had no issues at all……go figure 🤷🏼‍♂️
