Today Insta360 has released a very different product from its usual action cam/360 camera lineup. This is Insta360 Flow which is a gimbal for your iPhone or Android device. Its a 3 axis gimbal that works with your phone to deliver incredible content for both photos and video. I hate the colour. It would look better in matte black or dark flat grey. In public, bright colours will immediately announce that we are filming something. That is not cool at all.

Everyone is jumping on this one it's been a while since I've seen so many videos for the same product, THIS was a fantastic review of the product, and a far more appealing presentation. It's soooooo annoying and crigy to hear "influencers" trying to shine shit, with gimmics and social appeal. Can you tell me if the 360 photo features have full manual control? could be really interesting and I might sell my One-X and Ricoh Theta-Z for real estate 360 photography because they are great but I think that stitching multiple iphone 13 pro-photos would be better in quality and dynamic range anyway. How does the app compare with Filmic Pro? Does the gimbal also work with filmic pro (I.e., can you control other apps with the gimbal’s buttons etc.)? What is the battery life, and how user replaceable are they for a DIYer? Thanks!

Hi Ted, very interesting and compelling. Do you know if it would be possible to use Reeflex add-on iphone lenses with this. I realize that you wouldn’t be able to use the Reeflex Pro Camera app, but the physical lenes? Don’t know if the weight of the lenses, small as they are, might throw off the Flow’s balance. Thanks

Interesting but does it only work with a phone case off or will it accommodate a phone with a hard case. I have an otterbox case and it does me no good protecting my phone when it's off.

Does this work with any of the Sony Xperia phones? I see zero compatibility on their website right now and most Android phones seem to have limited compatibility compared to most iPhones. I would love to use this with my Sony Xperia 5 III.

I have a Zhiyun Smooth 4, but love buying new gadgets. But I'm trying to convince myself that this is an improvement... The intuitive buttons on the Smooth works exactly the same. Tracking is one. A light 👍 And a better app could be good, at the moment the video is held back by the app. Buttttt..... 🤔 If it'll hold the Rode Video Mic Me (or whatever it's called) and still hold. Maybe.

Interested in the 360 part, which could make it a really attractive product, but Mike from 360 Vroomers indicates the following: "It sounds exciting in concept but the stitching is not good. And it’s only 4096 x 2048. You can save the photos to use in PTGui, but if you do that, I think you might as well shoot with a DSLR. So the 360 pano feature is just for fun or as a gimmick." If this is really the case, it's a pity... What are your thoughts on the subject? Is it possible to confirm with a thorough test on this aspect?

I think it should be mandatory for all of these "smartphone" accessories to be reviewed in two parts, apple and android. Otherwise it's just all about iPhones and it's utterly annoying for Android users.
