I've got an old DJI Osmo Mobile (the original version) that I still pull out every once in a while, but I typically have to have something specific in mind that I want to use it for before I bother bringing it out because of the hassle of balancing it every time. This is probably the first new iteration of a phone gimbal since then that I have actually been tempted to get.

I saw a video from another creator and ordered the creator kit immediately! #1 thing over the DJI stabilizers I already use, no place to mount my RODE wireless go II. That is my main reason for having this gimbal! Also, I am so glad you made a vid about this gimbal, much more info than the other creator and you had some great examples of its capabilities. What no way! This tech is crazy!! I definitely expected it to have a much higher price tag. Chris, have you used this often since this video? The only downside I can see is just having more footage from my phone to transfer to my computer, but it's seriously is a great option for vlogging or not having to worry about carrying around bulky camera set ups. Nice review! Interested in the 360 part, which could make it a really attractive product, but Mike from 360 Vroomers indicates the following: "It sounds exciting in concept but the stitching is not good. And it’s only 4096 x 2048. You can save the photos to use in PTGui, but if you do that, I think you might as well shoot with a DSLR. So the 360 pano feature is just for fun or as a gimmick." If this is really the case, it's a pity... What are your thoughts on the subject? Is it possible to confirm with a thorough test on this aspect?

I almost bought the Hohem M6 until I saw this. I have 4 insta 360 cameras, so I am a fan. It also seems you can use the DJI mic in the lightning port rather than tether the Rode or DJI receiver to the cold shoe. I can use the cold shoe for a RGB light. Insta 360 told me it can handle 300 grams weight, the DJI OM 6 handles the DJI mic and it also handles 300 grams weight ( i sent that one back because it was too much of a pain to use. I've never been a big phone gimbal fan.) I use the DJI mic with my Insta 360 cameras, so I am going to buy this. I also use my Rode Wireless Go ll. Great review… Thank you!

@@dishxpert Smaller, lighter, easier to set up, more features… Insta 360 is a name brand and everything they do is record breaking. Pretty much the same price, too. The only thing I don’t like about the 360 is the color choices. I wish they had black. I just ordered mine and I am glad I waited a day.

Trouble is if you're android is it really going to work. Ive looked at the compatibility charts, and my Pixel 6 only works with the wide angle lens. Im not sure what would happen if I changed to my normal lens manually, I may lose tracking.

AI tracking has been around forever. Nothing new here except for better off camera tracking. I am much more impressed with the new Hohem iSteady M6 that was released two weeks ago. It's a beast! The Hohem iSteady M6 AI sensor mount has been upgraded and it's amazing. You can use the Hohem app, or even better, your native camera app, Filmic Pro, etc. and the AI sensor still tracks the subject without needing the Hohem app 🤯 and the off camera tracking is just as good as the Insta. The Hohem has a solid construction, huge LCD screen for viewing modes, and three threaded areas to mount a mic, led light, etc. The AI sensor also has a LED light in bicolor or RGB. The Hohem iSteady M6 kit is $190 using their $20 off coupon.

This is pretty much everything the DJI Osmo 6 already is. Nothing new or competitive added. Plus this isn't really "AI" either - its a feature that's existed on devices for the longest time now. The word AI is just become the cool thing to use on every marketing campaign and makes me cringe now. I work in tech myself and AI deserves better mention than products like this 🤣
