I just got the hang of beginning editing but I definitely want to be more involved to be able to make the videos look really nice I know it takes time and a lot of practice so I keep reading and listening and watching to the KZbin in learning how to use 360 Studio

I tried it. Unfortunately v5 does not allow editing in 360 video mode, but only in Reframe mode. Therefore, I will continue to use Premiere.

Oh yes, it is only for reframe - Insta360 does not care about 360 video editors like us - which is a shame :(

how is the image quality vs premiere plugin? I was confused by the image quality degradation thing.....

Better as using the new V5, you do not really render until the final step as you see in my tutorial. Premiere you need to use Studio to render into something and then render again for release - so the image quality drop there. Is there make sense? But Premiere plugins from Insta360 is going tho a rebuild from ground up so hopefully it can fix all the bugs right now causing Premiere to crash left and right.

In your video 'Insta360 Studio Masterclass + Free LUTs: GAME CHANGING 2024 Update That You Need To Know' from March 29, 2024, at minute 0:51', we can see 2 One RS on your rail. Were you able to create a 360° or 180° stereoscopic video with this system? I would be very interested in knowing how to create a preset from scratch in Mistika Boutique to use these 2 coupled cameras. 1- Is it feasible? 2- If yes, how to do it? to create and use a 2D then 3D preset that does not exist in Boutique? You mentioned using VP9 to upload to youtube, should we be using AV1 instead now that the Quest KZbin app supports 360 8k? I had been uploading reframed version with handbranke's h264, is should I use VP9 instead now?

Not all videos show up in 8k though, I'm not sure if it's only the AV1 encoded when uploaded or how that is determined. I was hoping Meta TV would support AV1 by now and could use a single encoding workflow for uploading to both KZbin and MetaTV.

Great, but no mention on the lack of outputting real 360 videos if you import inst files in to a project there is no way of out putting non flat 360 videos. I would have assumed that Insta would have done this as its a real hassle taking the files then adding in the data latter. Or do you know they are dealing with the problem?? Many thanks

Yes this is for reframe not 360 editing.. Insta360 does not care about the 360 video community enough unfortunately:(

Studio is NOT for 360VR content - it is only for reframe. My LUTs can NOT use in LOG footage - only REC 709. Insta360 LOG is no good don't use it.

Hi Hugh, how are you? I have burning question on Spatial Audio. I ordered the Rode NT SF1 spatial mic and Zoom H6 essential, for 360 field recording. I was informed that the Zoom H6 can't record in Ambisonic - so sad, instead it can only record in mono and need post processing later. May I check with you the post processing can I use Reaper App? or is there other app s I can use.

Yes, it record individual mono audio and then Rode should have an app to turn that into A format and then just ambisonic in Premiere as only have 4 channels.

Media page is what it is like before V5. So they keep it for consistency. You can slowly move completely to Project Page. For people just want to quickly reframe 1 clip it is faster on Media Page. It is kinda like Resolve Cut page vs Edit Page. Edit page can do everything on Cut Page but people still like to use Cut page for speed and simplicity.

Yes! Instead of importing into project media, you import GoPro MAX footage into General Media (where I put Kimchi selfie demo in this video). It will work as 360 video! Obviously you stitch your GoPro footage using GoPro Player first so it is MOV or MP4 files. Then it just behave like Insta360 video. It will also work with Qoocam 3 footage. It is basically an editing software for ALL 360 video footage not just Insta360.

In General Media yes. Try it. Right now there is still some bug but they are fixing it. Look like they just want to support everything.

Yo Joe I just checked Qoocam 3 stitched ProRes into General Media - it recognized as 360 video and you can reframe, add keyframe, even AI deep track the video. I don't think it is a hack - it is basically a free editor for ALL 360 camera. Try it anyway - it is free! And better than Premiere. 10000 time better than Kandao software or others.

Really great video - as always 😮 - I was into 360° creation with insta one and then x2 - and then got the Kandao qoo cam with 8k. Insta was always ahead in software and now this new version fills nearly every gap! Just waiting and being curious how long it will take till insta will make the step from 5.7k video to 8k in a two lens format. Kandao sucked unfortunately as they promise since one year to enter that field with a new version - and Canon is on the horizon - so it`s time for insta take the leap again 😊 really hope for that!

Yes this is only for reframe 360 video NOT 360 video render. Insta360 seem to not care about the immersive filmmaking industry which is a shame. But this is a great tool to make promotion social video fast. 360 video you will need my Premiere and Resolve workflow.
