Great video as always! I so wish Insta360 would implement the Shotlabs into Insta360 Studio. Im 50 yo and I really hate editing on a smartphone when I could use a PC.

Same here. I find a smartphone very useful and whilst 9 years older than you, I'm not anti-mobile-phone, but why would anyone choose to edit on a tiny screen when you can use a 40" screen and very capable processor.

Hello James, thank you for taking the time to put this video together. I'm 68 and trying to learn video editing so I can do some vlogging on my motorcycle. I have an X3 and Ace Pro along with DJI Mic 2 package. I've lost count on how many tutorials I've watched, but I'm SLOWLY learning. The one question I have from your video and apologies for asking this, is what do you mean your can't export 360 videos from the Project tab. What video format is exported after I've added all my keyframes, transitions, music, texts, etc.? By the way, do you live on the coast?

hey, no problem! glad u found the video useful 😎 just keep playing around with it all and like anything it’ll become easier over time! good luck! and with regards to ur question about 360 videos vs normal. when u edit all ur clips together in the studio and add the key frames ect and then go to export it, ur video will be a normal re framed video that u can use anywhere, like a standard .mp4 video (just like a video u would shoot with ur phone) where as if u was to export a 360 video then it can be viewed in 360 in something like a VR headset or u can even upload 360 videos to KZbin and the viewer can move the image around on the screen with there mouse but because this is a special type of file u might have issues editing it together with other videos in ur normal video editing software. so in short, if ur just looking to re frame ur video inside the studio by adding key frames and then have a normal video after, just export it as a normal video not a 360 video, hope that helps ☺️ and no I don’t live by the coast, I live in london

Great update, i love it. But but but why are the shotlabs not included in the studio software? Using a smartphone is way to complicated for older users. The cameras are great, the studio software would make insta360 unbeatable if all the shotlabs are included !

Excellent canter through the update, thanks. And you covered the new way of editing keyframe transitions which puzzled me at first (I was trying to click on the yellow line, the old way). I do hope that in later versions it will be possible to fade in the first clip and fade out the last one - I don't like a jolt at the start and end - and also you cannot crossfade the audio when going from a loud clip to a quiet one. You have to fade to silence which emphasises the edit. And as you say, the fixed 30fps is odd.

Hi Great tutorial. I am having a problem that I cannot figure out. I am using the new 5.0 insta studio. I CANNOT find the icon for adding a keyframe. Believe me I have looked everywhere and watched the vid over many times. Can you help me" I made a screenshot but it won't let me attach. You discuss this option at 3:49 of your video. I cannot get that dialogue to show?? HELP

I noticed that edited speed in a section done in the media tab shows in the project tab but is not rendered at a different speed. Maybe this will be fixed in an update?

Have you turned on your stats on your camera first? Because only then it appears on the app as far as a video I watched before.

I did a quick edit, my very first one, on the media tab earlier. But I noticed when adding a 'keyframe' and changing the 'FOV Control' which essentially zooms in or out, the video quality becomes very poor when zooming in. How can I fix this please?? Also noticed when adding a 'keyframe' I don't get all the same options for field of view, I only get 5 options - Crystal ball, Tiny planet, Mega view, Ultra wide and Dewarp. The software I downloaded is the latest downloaded earlier today.

unfortunately u will loose some quality when zooming in so that is normal… what is the FOV that’s missing from the list?

I’ll watch this in its entirety later, but what I’d like to see is the ability to join 360 clips or have it so keyframes can span clips. I shoot long 360 clips then create one long video that slowly pans around the entire 360 degrees to play on my Samsung frame TV. I’ve just played with this program briefly and it’s a pain to have one clip follow the other seamlessly with the same view when creating a 16x9 video

how long are the clips? it has to be a certain length for the transition to be applied

Thank you for the video. I imported all X4 files (i had only shot a few short 4K and 5.7 videos) into the insta360 studio after installing it on my laptop. I had two issues: 1.When i played the videos, the video flow was inconsistent doing breaks all the time, so it could not run smoothly. 2. When i tried to export one ,it took 10minutes for the export progress to reach 5% I am using a 5-year old windows 11 laptop which is not bad for today's standards. Not sure what the problem is to be honest. One thing is that i do not have more than 10G free storage on the laptop drive at the moment, but i do not think it has to do with it.

Hi there make sure download all cam files into your laptop (like in desktop or documents... ) and import studio from there (not from the camera itself)

Great instructional video, this is a lot better and as you said hopefully, they will address all the issues mentioned in the future. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. I'm pretty new to using a 360, I have an X2 and x3, and I use Rode wireless mics, as a newbie what is a must for me to have and use and what should I avoid or maybe move on to in the future? I'm fortunate to be filming my friend's Pro Mod Drag car as well as Carl Cox's drag car as he is part of the Carl Cox Racing Team, I film inside the car, and outside with the carbon 3-metre selfie stick and have a mount on top of the car. I capture some great footage and would love to fast-track how to turn it into dynamic videos for social media ranging from 30 to 60 seconds, any advice would be much appreciated. I'd love to make a real go of this as it's less physical on my body as an amputee.

Grerat video and you can change text colour, click the little down arrow next to the text field title and you'll find the colour field in there, so for that first summer title click the arrow next to text2 A point that I have raised with Insta, is there is no indication in the library to show which clips have been added to the timeline

Anyone worked out how to change the FPS rate in the project mode? Appears to be locked at 30 FPS and will not change to match incoming clips. This causes issues with the stabilisation mode caused by the miss match. Great video thanks
