I own the insta 360, best camera I have ever used records everything and makes you feel a lot safer when riding. I also bought the Gopro12 but hardly ever switch it on, I agree the attitude is annoying and the disregards for what other might consider important, bit like a spoilt Bratt throwing boxes around. defo a shame, unsub'd

New motorcycle kit just not worth it no helmet mount just clamp for your stick and some new type of mount that is not suitable for helmet mounting. I recommend to purchase the gopro grab bag if you want some helmet mount

I think you need to get to know the mounting kit a bit better (RTFM) and try it instead of making snap judgements. Insta are not going to jeopardise their reputation by supplying rubbish mounts. It looked solid enough to me.

In actual fact, Insta supplied a mount that is so rubbish, it would NOT stay done up and despite my 6ft 2 OtherHalf trying to tighten it for me every few miles, it suddenly caused my new Insta360 x3 to swing downwards onto my rotating tyre. Scuffed the lens. Ruined. Luckily Wex replaced it for me. I'm talking about the carbon bike mount (cyclist here). I'll stick with the PGYtech mount as it's excellently sturdy!

@@alicejwho Is this the bike mount that attaches both sides of the steering stem and contains a gopro mount plus selfie stick mount? Did you have it tight from the start? If it's a little loose, allowing a little movement the teeth on the ratchets will actually eat themselves and will render it useless. As for loosening, Is everything clean and free from oils and grease? Clean it up if there is and apply a bit of carbon grip paste to create more friction if needed. I'm not a sales person for Insta, I just understand that they simply cannot supply rubbish mounts because it would kill their business. Are there lots of complaints regarding these mounts? I really don't know. Just trying to help.

@@royevans4581 it is that one! It was the screw thing on the side. Every few miles ut came undone so badly that it took several turns to tighten up. They said it was faulty and that's why they completely replaced my camera 😊

Saffy, you’ve clearly never used ram mounts. My advice would be buy a ram ball that replaces on of the bolts of your handlebar mount and try the rest of the mount attached to that. Give it a try before giving up on it.

I’ve seen many reviews and end results of what the Insta X3 is capable of and to be honest if it’s used correctly and the footage is edited correctly, the results are mind blowing. I know you say this isn’t a review but you’ve provided an opinion of it and its components and to me that constitutes a review. The X3 is by all accounts significantly more versatile than the X2 and the larger screen is not a negative. As others have implied, this is a strange video where you’re remarking on the quality of the items you were sent without either using the camera the mounts or reading the manual!

I have been working on a genuine review, and I tried incredibly hard not to comment on the features sands functionality of the bits inside of the box because I wanted to reserve my judgment until I actually reviewed the product. Still, at the same time, I WAS disappointed. I've owned over 30+ action cameras, and the quality didn't match the price tag. I've been reviewing the camera all weekend, and the camera itself is great don't get me wrong, but I've also upgraded from the X2 to the X3, which means I've lost £300 in doing so, and I'm seeing for that £300 is very little. I don't hide my emotions, and I was disappointed but I'm reserving judgment until I finish my review

I've got the motorcycle mount kit myself and I've been pretty happy with it. The Ram mount fits quite nicely multiple places on my bike (except for on my racks, which is unfortunate). Also, that particular mount is easy enough to find and replace.

That big screen saves you connecting to your phone to change settings, a great thing if you need glasses to read tiny screens like the X2 , probably not worth an upgrade but certainly X3 for me over the X2 if buying new. Also look for those lovely codes that give you bundles for free.

I have watched all your videos and do enjoy your content, however this video definitely falls short of your usual content. I do agree everyone is entitled to give their opinion based on their experience, but I have to disagree with almost every aspect of your review. I have owned a couple of insta 360 products like the insta 360 go cameras to the x2 and x3. I have also purchased the motorcycle bundle with all the same mounts. my experience with their products from unboxing to the software to the quality of the products has been nothing but positive. I have been using the motorbike kit for about 2 years now producing content on Instagram etc, and haven't had a single issue. I feel a lot of the complaints you had in the video were completely down to user error. I agree that the mount that has to be assembled is a bit unnecessary, And you did say you will reserve your judgment until you use them on the road, Which in my opinion isn't going to be a great judgment based on how you just unboxed it. I look forward to seeing your review as it is a wonderful camera with so many possibilities.

Ram Mounts are very good, so long as the ones Insta sent you aren't cheap copies. The U-bolts can damage paintwork but there's plenty of better options in the Ram catalogue. I'm sure you'll grow to like them.

You call the ball mounts weird, but the Ultimate addons phone holder uses the same ball mounting system. Ram mounting systems are used in all sorts of applications, across various industries, as they are solid, reliable and easily used.

I'm not too fond of the claw-type Ram handlebar mount. I have also seen the mount's ball melting and deforming in hot weather (direct sunlight). Still, one of the most popular mounting system, replacements parts are available everywhere.

A ram mount is not meant to be a “quick release” and I can tell you from first hand experience that the plastic parts which look like fake GoPro ones are as strong as you could possibly need them to be. But I can totally see why you’d think that 👍🏻 Keep up the good work 😎

@Saffy Sprocket I swapped my stock mirrors for double take adventure ones, which are made from 6-inch ram arms with the 1 inch ball on the mirror and a threaded ball that screws into the original mirror thread. I've been known to drop bikes while off-road.

I've used Ram mounts and Insta360 cams (and action cams in comparison) on 6 different bikes and never had an issue. I can agree the image quality on the consumer level Insta360 cams is not as good as the last few generations of the Hero line (because the 5k+ image on a 360 cam is spread around a larger sphere, which reduces quality as you crop into any particular isolated area of the footage). Also), the majority of your viewing audience can't tell much difference in image quality on their phones. However, the quality of this tech is also about image capture and reframing capabilities. Just try getting out and trying the gear before deciding how good it is.

I haven't seen a video with more complaints on the entire KZbin platform. I'm pretty sure that you are not going to get an insta360 sponsorship. I stuck one of those cheap go pro mounts that you say are bad to my helmet and did an entire race with a camera hanging from the extension rod. It's so stuck there, that it's like part of the helmet. It's not getting off no matter how much I pick the helmet from that extension rod and shake it or do anything to it. You paid £500 and you expect to send you £500 worth of mounts on top of the camera, when these work perfectly? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Biggest problem I have with all of the Insta's is the 30 seconds or so of recording gap between clips. You can't record long videos with them as there are gaps while it writes files to the memory card.

The mounting kits appear to be copies of the RAM Mount system - which although look unattractive, are robust and simple to use (even with gloves on). May have been cheaper to actually buy genuine RAM Mounts by the sounds of it. *Insta360 footage* - can be quite strange as an account of a motorcycle journey and perhaps in the same way as drone footage can be. Anything that is not done in POV from a rider's perspective, is not the same journey the rider experienced... is my thinking. This becomes particularly pertinent when trying to bring others along with you; experience the same things. A view five feet behind and four feet above you is not far, but can be a completely different perspective that the rider never sees. Even more so with drone footage. It works with footage of 'extreme sports' and other applications where an exclusive view is appropriate, but footage should be about the journey and not looking down at the back of your head. Each to their own, but I use drone footage only to establish placement in the environment. The rest is rider's POV and none of that weird 360 stuff.

@@SaffySprocket Yeah, I think GoPro mounts are made from a plastic resin that is durable under harsh conditions - stress and temperature. I had a GoPro Hero 9 and a Hero 10, then bought a Hero 11. Not much of an upgrade, but what not many people talk about is the new file format type. You need to download a codec (if not new computer) to view the footage and it demands a fast computer processor and good memory. If you have something mediocre now, you'll need to upgrade that as well, at an added expense. Once again, for not much benefit.

I feel i must comment to defend the RAM mounts. There excellent. The trick here is to buy what you need not a kit with everything and anything thrown in. Ram products are available individually and as someone already commented the one that uses the clutch or brake mounting bolts is much better than the generic round the tube thing thats basically for cyclists !

With all my due respect, I am gonna reserve my judgment on blonde girls and tools until i see more videos. But I have some impressions. My advise is break your lack of confidence on how it works by getting used to the tool first. Then you realize its not that messy once you know what to do. People who have used all type of tools since young age will not be able to relate to people that look at tools they way you look at it, lol. Tools that have been designed ergonomically and for specific purposes like this tool, are actually very easy to use. My recommendation, play with the tools before making the videos, and you will reach the absolute all of people =).

@@garybrown4974 It all depends on what you're using it for! If you want it or vlogging, I'd recommend a GoPro 9 and up because of the built-in stabilisation; any will do if you want it for security. However, what I really would recommend is even if you buy a camera second-hand, go online and register the camera on your GoPro account and then pay for their monthly cloud subscription. It also serves as insurance. They replaced my GoPro 8 after it stopped working with a GoPro 10. I had to ship it back for inspection, and they gave me a free upgrade.

I bought an X3 recently for a NC500 trip starting on Thursday but only started playing with it at the weekend. I used a claw mount and selfie stick and the footage came out brilliant, including the sheep that ran out in front of me - took a snapshot as a memory; hoping I don't experience anything as close again. I haven't got to grips with the editing software yet - do you use other software to edit?

@@lyndonevans8033 If you want to buy NEW, buy the X3 because there's no difference between the price of the X2 and the X3. However, if you aren't fussed about new or used like I was, buy an X2 - there are not many X3 on sale secondhand, and the X2 is 2.5x cheaper secondhand!

We have had a terrible experience with it too. The threads on the selfie stick to motorcycle mount kit crumbled and so that made it useless to us. 3 months later we are still back and forth with Chinese brand insta trying to get the right replacement part. The camera footage is good but the accessories are shocking and terrible quality and the customer service is worse. I’d send it back now saffy! GoPro 360 is the answer

I'm getting one or at least im debating myself whether to purchase one for my truck it will be hanging off the mirror. That mount looks like a hassle. I'm afraid I just might donate my camera to the highway using some of those mounts 😅. Overall I would love to see the mounts in use if you don't have a video already out showcasing it in use thanks! 👍

Greeting Ms Sprocket. How things have changed since I hit the road. No Sat Nav's. Just head in the general direction and either stop at a local garage and buy an ordnance survey map and or ask for directions. And as for using a camera? Any 35mm camara with a roll of 36-films would do 😂📸! Too many decisions now 😂😂😂👌. Stay riding till next time girl. PS cattle grids - try and ride over them in a straight line and not at an angle. It helps that's all.

@@jaco_oosthuizen The cameras are great and worth buying, but there's a huge price difference between the X2 and the X3. If you didn't own the X2 already and wanted to buy a camera from new, the X3 would make sense, but if you already own the X2, there's no point in upgrading to the X3! - I'd recommend buying the X2 second-hand like I did! You'll get the same final product but saving £300

problem here is ppl have wrong expectation of quality. not all metal and plastic are the same. 500 is not a lot - a professional mount could cost the same. some very large companies who have buying power have warped our definitions of what quality costs

there are 100s of types of “plastics”. some may only have. a few manufacturers, and of those only a few might be able meet a clients design specifications or order size

a good comparison is tools. theyre also purpose built and durable. you can find simple pliers worth over 1000 just because the metal it bends or grips in an exact specifications
