Great tips, though I confess I chapter-skipped. Tip 11, in case you didn't mention it in passing, is to use normal sharpening, not low, unless you have thoroughly tested low sharpening and are convinced it really does look better. It's increasingly evident that this rarely mentioned setting can make or break the footage - on low, it seems to lose detail as well as sharpness (an AI thing???) and while sharpness can be recovered if you have the time and patience, details that are lost cannot be exhumed from footage that probably looks like it was shot on an X2 with a lens that hadn't been cleaned in weeks. YMMV of course but it really is a very important setting if you want to take full advantage of the 8K 360 capture.

Actually, someone who has the camera should do an entire shortish video of that one thing, showing the difference in the settings. I would but I am still back on the X3. Huh.

Personally I use low sharpening. I don't understand why, but any sharpening makes the colors of my face look really weird, as if I'm muddy almost. The only way it looks natural is with no sharpening. My two cents 🤗

Don’t buy the insta 360. I just returned mine. The image quality is poor and I spent weeks fiddling with the settings. The reframed videos showed glitches on 30+% of them, so the images jumped. I love the concept. I really do. But nearly 40% more expensive than a good action camera and less quality isn’t worth it. Plus the security and privacy statements are highly questionable.
