In fact the very first thing I did on my van was cut the hole for the sliding door window!!! It's installed and works great. Thank you so much for instilling confidence in me to do this. Now, if I can do the same for electrical and diesel heater...

Thanks! Your window install videos are great. I was going to spend 3x this much having a collision shop do the work. It’s so helpful to see someone else do it.

Kevin, I'm just getting ready to install my CRL T-Vent window and just checking on if you pre-drilled the holes as it was suggested on the Bunk Windows? I pre-drilled those, but just checking on if that has to be done on this T-Vent window. Thanks, Brian

@@MathersOnTheMap I think I had gotten that from the CRL Website maybe. You may not have mentioned doing it. When you said on the TVENT that it was very hard to screw in, just wondering if that was done or not. Thanks for replying so quickly.

Yep, I have seen couple of different videos on installing these and pre-drilling was recommended and through many rounds of doing a little tightening of each screw with drill driver with clutch set at a low point initially gradually tighten the screws and then finish by hand. Definitely would not use an impact driver.

Hey! Glad to see a fellow Jerseyian VanLifers:) about to order our windows tomorrow. You like the CRL TVents as supposed to the AMA that slides open? I like that these CRL can be open while raining but I hear a lot of not as high quality and break easy.

Hey Ron! We like the CRL Tvents we’ve been in the rain a good amount in the van during the build and on our first trip and it was nice to have ventilation. I am cautious slamming the sliding door if the Tvent is open but I’m confident otherwise. I never used or seen the AMA one in person so I’d be lying if I gave an opinion!

Mathers On The Map , welp. I just ordered four CRL TVents this morning lol. No turning back now. I was thinking 3 TVents and 1 AMA sliding window for the sliding door 🤷‍♂️ I’ll just copy what you do, keep sliding door window closed when shutting it.

Did you use butyl tape or just the rubber that came with the window?

I used butyl tape and the rubber, you could just use the rubber if ya rather... butyl is just extra

What was Taylor spraying/using to clean the van before installing the window? :) Thank you guys! This is my next step in my van build.

Caroline Dianne hey there! Taylor used glass cleaner before we put the window in place. Also if you’re planning on using butyl tape get the black color so it matches the window!!!
