I'd use a small piece of 90-degree angle iron to give better leverage...I'd cut it the same width as the cap...any longer and it would be too near the tire...

This is such a 'no brainer'. Can not believe RV manufacturers have not already done this.

I like this idea, but I think it's reinventing the wheel a bit. I'm planning to stop by a Home Depot or Lowe's and get a couple of cabinet handles to mount on these covers. I don't really have an issue with turning them, except that we have a van, and those valves are pretty low to the ground. Getting leverage is a challenge. Great tip!

Why don't the manufacturers construct these to have handles?! A much needed and improved design!

Why go to all that trouble. Just go to Camping World or some other RV parts place and purchase a cap with the handle already on it. That's what I did. Didn't have to get drill & bits, tools out, find or purchase bolts and metal. Easy.
