So glad these exist lol. Lately when I get to the campground, I take the cap off to connect the hose, and I've been getting a gallon or more discharge. Probably leaking waste gates internally. Definitely getting one of these.

After install, I put a couple dabs of silicone adhesive on the clips where unit attaches to prevent it from backing off. Easy to remove adhesive if needed.

At least on the one I got there is a pin and a hole in the bayonet tab to lock it and keep it from spinning off.

The worst part of emptying your tanks is removing the cap. Definitely ordering one of these

I've gotten burned by a leaky black tank twice now. Just picked up two of these from Amazon, one for each set of tanks. I was worried about them spinning around but I can see from your vid that they are actually quite snug. Thanks for posting!

I was worried it may vibrate off when I'm on back roads so I would wrap some electrical tape around it. Worked well. Cheers! Ray

even some plumbers putty might keep it from vibrating loose and will still be able to remove it

Great add On! I have the same problem with liquid coming out when I take the cover off. I also like the idea of being able to open the 2 gray tanks. Thanks! I'm LOVING your vids. Robert

I had to put a set screw behind one of the tabs because it kept coming off when trying to take the cap off or when removing the sewer hose.

I wrapped mine with electrical tape to make use it didn't come loose when traveling.

Nice review, I am wishing to equalize my two grey tanks, also!

looks like that would be good to have in the event you cant close off a valve...just add that to the end until you can make permanent repair

Wow that's perfect for my new crusair Fifth wheel. The valves are up too far in the frame and I almost have to stand on my head to release them. Not fun.

Sounds like good insurance. Our Cougars are the same and mine is always dripping.. small defect corrected herein. I like the shower/galley equalization idea too. I put a little garden hose adaptor on mine too that lets me bleed off a little grey to a buried hole or other appropriate disposal place. When are you going to add solar install to your mix?
@LoveYourRV10 жыл бұрын
***** Yes, we are discussing it. we have slowly reduced our energy needs first, wife got a smaller computer and we now have LED lights and a portable propane heater, so I think we are at the point where solar should be able to power us pretty well when dry camping. Do you have a solar setup?

Great item to add to my new trailer... ummm that tire looks like it needs alignment, or something... are they cupped? is this normal for trailers?
@LoveYourRV4 жыл бұрын
No, nothing was wrong with the tire, maybe it had some dirt on it or its a trick of the camera or the video processing algorithm that the video editor uses or what KZbin does when it compresses the video for online use. I get these comments a lot when tires are shown in my videos but never is the tire bad in real life. Cheers! Ray

Is that standard that it'll fit any motorhome sewer end cap? are they all 3"? How does your sewer hose hook on to that other end now when you dump? It looks like only raised little protrusions on that side.
@LoveYourRV6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's standard - images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61MfZpi7QDL._SY879_.jpg Has male bayonet connector on side and female on the other. I also ended up using some electrical tape to help make sure it stayed in place. Didn't want it falling off during travel.

Is there any leaking when you equalize the gray tanks?
@LoveYourRV4 жыл бұрын
I didn't experience any but I imagined you will have to make sure to keep the gate valve is kept clean and rubber seals in good shape. Cheers, Ray

Where is your affiliate link? I just got keyless entry with your link then came here to help you a little more but no link.

If you click the blog post link in the description its there. This is an old video back when it wasn't known if Amazon and KZbin were OK with having affiliate links in the videos. You can also find all my reviewed items in one place on my special Amazon page - www.amazon.com/shop/loveyourrv Thanks! Ray

I did this add-on, but find that it wants to twist off to easy. I added a safety wire in case it falls off. Have you experienced any problems with it twisting off on rough roads?
@LoveYourRV8 жыл бұрын
As a proactive measure, I added some electrical tape around it to keep it from shifting. I've gone on some very rough and wash boarded roads and it's held fine. Cheers Ray

Ray, I noticed in this vlog that the valve untwisted (dismounted) pretty easily. I just purchased the same valve and found that is came off much easier than it went on. I did not use it over our last trip (Memorial Day) as I was afraid it would bounce lose and fall off. For me the valve twists off when i remove the dump hose, rotate the gate handle (body). The hook bayonets don’t seem to be deep enough. Have you had a similar issue? My fix (done about 5 minutes ago) was to use caulk to line the area where the valve meets the trailer connect side. Idea is to add a bit of locking strength so it at least travels well. Had thought about putting a set screw behind one of the bayonet posts, but will hold off on that.
@LoveYourRV5 жыл бұрын
What I did to make sure it didn't rattle off during traveling was to wrap electrical it making sure to overlap from the waste valve side to the rigs sewer output side in a cross pattern. Worked well, every once in a while I'd refresh the tape. Cheers, Ray

Love Your RV, I’ll let you know how the caulk goes. We have a trip planned for the end of June going from Fort Worth to Denver.
@markoliver4745 жыл бұрын
Love Your RV - Update in sealing the gate. I used clear caulk with a small bead on the inside and on the outside along the flange for the bayonet hooks. Works well and give a tight fit allowing you to spin the gate handle counter clockwise without having the gate disengage at the pin to bayonet hooks. Try it out, holds pretty well and I am sure can be hand twisted off if needed.

@@markoliver474 Thanks for the update. :)

I’m guessing if you are getting a small amount of leakage ... you have a leak. Why not replace the leaky valve ? A good valve should stay closed .. maybe the seals were unseated on original installation
@LoveYourRV6 жыл бұрын
On my system, my shower gray, galley gray and black all combine into one output pipe. It's not uncommon to get a piece of debris caught in one of the wastegates, especially the black tank, then you get a little seepage. The twist on vale solves the issue. I've improved upon the solution now with a WasteMaster sewer hose permanently installed. one of the best mods I've ever done makes dumping a breeze. www.loveyourrv.com/ultimate-rv-sewer-system-modification/ Cheers, Ray
