Install Aux or Bluetooth Connectivity on a Mercedes-Benz with a Command 2.0 Navigation (How to DIY)

In this video I am showing you how you can easily add Aux or Bluetooth connectivity to your early 2000s Mercedes Benz and make it look factory. The installation itself is quite straight forward, especially if you buy the proper adapter, something which as you see from the video I obviously didn't do. That being said there is a key prerequisite in order to make all of this happen, namely the factory Mercedes Command 2.0.
The Command 2.0 media / navigation unit comes in two main flavors was installed in pretty much every Mercedes-Benz from the late 90s to the early 2000s. The vehicles in which this command was installed are the following:
- C-Class W203
- CLK-Class W209
- E-Class W210
- S-Class W220
- ML W163
If you have a vehicle, which doesn't have the factory Command 2.0 unit, but rather the basic Mercedes Audio 10, this video doesn't apply to you! The reason for this is that the Audio 10 simply lacks the proper connections in the back in order to make this work.

Do you know you can even sightly modify vga, send it through the television port and have samsung dex?

I have a Fiio btr5 on aux connection in the clovebox. You only need to buy the aux connector, i think its pre wired to the connection point

The FiiO BTR is a really good option, but it is also quite expensive. In this video I wanted to try and use the cheapest possible solution for achieving external source playback, as, lets be honest, most people are going to opt out for the 10 USD cable from Ebay rather than something like the FiiO, Yatour or other solutions of the sort. Not all vehicles came pre-wired for AUX in the glovebox. I believe this might have been an option in some of the regions. The G500, for example, didn't come have it.

Excellent excellent, very good! Can you please share the chinese aux part number and explain how easy it was to re-pin the wires from the cheap part to the existing Mercedes aux connector? Thanks in advance.

The chinese aux, doesn't have an actual part number. It was just a generic one that I got for the Command 2.0 from Ebay a while back. The depinning itself was quite easy, I used a very small flathead screwdriver to de-pin the original connector, which also got destroyed in the process. The pins themselves are the exact same ones as on the original Mercedes connector so it is just the matter of plugging them into the correct place.

There are aux/ Bluetooth modules that you plug into a cigarette lighter socket and then need to tune into a specific frequency to play audio through them. There are also more expensive options like CD changer emulators and fiber optic aux interfaces.

The infotainment in a Mercedes of these years and a Prius is quite different. Most likely the overall process will be similar, but the actual disassembly and pinout of the unit will be very different.
