Congratulations. I want to suggest that if "Mercedes-Benz" is offering extended coverage (warrantee) for your car, consider buying that now, if you haven't already. The reason is the cost for extended coverage will be less money during the time when you first buy a car (within a month or so) because it's considered a good road worthy car by the selling dealership. But if you wait too long the cost for coverage goes up and up. The reason is because there are people that buy the coverage late because they damaged the car, and they don't want to pay a big repair bill, and the coverage is less than the bill.

The hook on the handle is in case you need to tie the hatch down when you have a long item in the vehicle inhibiting the closure of the doorway. It's why it's described as "temporary tie down" in the owners manual.

#9 For anyone confused by the explanation, basically Mercedes are designed not to roll like other cars. It's most noticeable when leaving a stop sign that's on a down hill. In most cars you can just let off the brake and the car will roll away on its own. In a Mercedes you have to have pressure on the accelerator pedal for the car to roll normally.

I have that feature on my 2011 BMW, and it saves brakes. Car will decelerate with foot removed from gas pedal. It works well on down hill portions as some cars will upshift and go faster. I have the original brakes and rotors after 93K miles. My older cars would burn thru brakes in 40K miles.

The hook on the handle is more for your dry cleaning. If you're walking up to the car you can hit the button open it and then hang your dry cleaning while you're moving stuff inside the car or setting things down if your hands are full that way you can put it on one of the interior hook handles on the back seats.

Reading the comments before actually watching the video but I do have to agree about 1 thing as somebody that's been around and driven a lot of diff Mercedes over the past 27yrs when my dad bought his 1st which was an '85 diesel don't remember what model cuz I was 10 and didn't know anything about MB yet. And I do have a point regarding the C230 in all this. But he then progressed thru a couple early 90's gas E300s but the 1st Benz I was old enough to drive was his '95 300E turbo diesel that he owned longer than any other MB because it was soo solid and reliable and I made the mistake of not buying it from him when he finally got rid of it and my brother did. Then a newer E320 and E350 and now his ML350. Stepmom started w/ a '87 300SDL then '98 S320, 2002 S320, '06 E320CDI and now her GL450 which I was lucky enough to drive all of them atleast once. The 1st Benz I bought was a '75 300D which unfortunately the engine was bad but the guy was nice enough to take it back since he didn't know and I took it straight to the shop for a once over and found out the day after I bought it. I say all that to say this, the 2nd Benz I bought was a 1 owner 2000 C230K Sport sedan in '08 w/ 70k miles.. 1st 3-4yrs the car was great, the last 3yrs I spent almost as much in repairs as I paid for it including replacing the supercharger 6 months before I cut my losses cuz it was something new breaking or going bad that cost $1000+ every 4-6 months and I got a whole $950 trading it in instead of spending another $1200 to get it running... out of every diff MB my family or I have bought, that w202 C-Class was the biggest piece of shit once it passed 100k miles... as much as would love an old C43 or newer C63 I'll never buy another C-Class
@rabiddogoncrack Жыл бұрын
@@OC.Harm230 That's an unfortunate experience you had. I got mine with 99K miles and now ir reaching 260K without mayor problems. I didn't want the Sport because been a MB tech at the time I knew the Kompressor will give me headaches at 100K. The only mayor problem was the transmission conductive plate, which I replace myself expending $260 between the plate, filter, gasket and fluid. Still driving it for almost 100 miles every day and going strong.

Regarding the headlights. One of the BIG problems with automatic headlights is that in poor visibility conditions they do not come on if the available light meets the arbitrary setting from factory, which means the tail lights are off and that is hazardous at dusk, dawn or low cloud conditions. As such, I leave the light switch in the ON position all the time. Since the lights turn off when the engine is off, there is no issue, but the advantage is that the tail lights are always on. Regarding the little cover for the hidden VIN, it is a pain in the ass because it slowly deforms and keeps falling out. I learned a few really cool things in this video. Thank you very much!

@MBZMaster3 жыл бұрын
Sensitive I don't recommend. For example too sensitive Parktronic will start beeping even when it senses very little objects, while they're still far away. Or very sensitive Active Brake Assist will detect the smaller objects in front of your car and will try to hit brakes too soon. I guess you should put everything in "sensitive" and see how it feels. If it's overly reactive, then move to "standard."

I have seen quite a number of MB tricks videos and it seems like all you guys always show the same complicated way to switch back to auto mode, after using the paddles, by holding in the paddle for a while. Actually the easiest way is just to flip down your "gear selecter" like you want to put it into Drive (again). It will switch you back to Auto right away. Same same, just easier.

Hard to say for sure. The problem can be with the sensor, with the wiring, or even with the gage itself. If it shows correctly when full, but doesn't go below half - maybe the arrow is stuck and can't move. You need to do some tests/diagnostics to pinpoint. Regarding the gas pedal; if you don’t want your car to be slowed down quickly and glide when you pull your foot from the gas pedal, put your car in Eco mode rather than Comfort or Sport mode. It will glide.
@MBZMaster3 жыл бұрын
Eco mode has some drawbacks, like mediocre acceleration due to extremely fast-shifting transmission, and also a restrictive power use. For example, the climate control won't cool your car as much as when you in Comfort mode, because it's trying to save gas in Eco. I have a few other videos on that subject. @@MBZMaster I believe that you misunderstood what I was asking. If I take my GLE 450 to a track and I want every bit of horsepower that I can get, I absolutely don't want for my AC compressor to cycle on when I have it floored wide open. Most vehicles will run the compressor no matter where you have the temperature set, however the computers in some vehicles will tell the compressor not to run when you have it floored wide open throttle. So I was asking if you knew if the GLE 450's computer tells the AC compressor not to run when the throttle is wide open?

I doubt GLE's computer would shut down the AC compressor during the kick-down. The only time the computer will prioritize, as far as I'm aware, is when the vehicle is losing power due to the battery, alternator failure, or some major overheating. Then, the computer may decide to shut down anything that is considered less important, like AC.

The Hook on the tailgate is for hanging whatever yes ! but primarily when the tailgate is up other drivers approaching or reversing up can not see the lifted tailgate and might hit it , so if you hang something from the hook it can bs seen :)

I have the solution for turning off your lights when you are in the car and you want to use the air conditioning. Use tip number 7 with the REST function. :) Thanks for the valuable tips.

Very clever! :) However, the REST doesn't cool the car as much as AC. It just provides ventilation. Plus, I had to use the radio.
