It’s a great bike. Small front wheel versus F850 for on-road handling. Nice low to the ground and lot of fancy tech like cruise control.

Read the owners manual. If will tell you how to slide the front case off the nav prep. You would do that to mount the Nav VI onto it anyway. Now that you have the cover off, you can unscrew those 4 bolts and CAREFULLY disassemble the 3 parts of that nav holder. Be very careful that you don't let the 4 locking nuts on the bottom fall into the cracks on your bike.

@@DileoFilms I recommend buying a cheap magnetic screw/nut dish and having that sitting under the assembly when you do this, more likely that something falling, will drop into it if you're worried about this.

Hey Adam, thanks for this video. Perhaps a silly question but do you happen to know if this bracket is compatible with most windscreens? I've got a Wunderlich Marathon on mine and it would be a shame if the bracket doesn't fit behind the screen.

It'll work with a lot of windscreens. I believe on the Fx50GS forums there are a few posts about the navigation bracket and people posting photos. Might help you get the answer you need.

The wind screen isn't much better on an 850. The gps position and even the tft screen position is too far below the eye-line of my helmet. :/ The relocation bracket for the GPS is at least a good compromise.

Hi Adam, I want to reroute the nav bracket cable. I've disconnected the white plug from the black socket. The white plug is held somehow on the fairing. Can it be removed using long nose pliers by pulling towards the rear of the bike?

When I did my install, I did not unhook the GPS cable. I didn't have much confidence on not breaking it since it seemed pretty stout. I bet if you searched KZbin for "remove GPS Prep R1200GS" that will have the same setup and much more of those bikes out there with the same cable setup.

I know you can retrofit cruise control and other things after purchase but you'll have to purchase those parts from BMW and I believe after the high cost of the switches (200-300 USD), you will need some software coding.

Did you extra pay for the original navigation holder? or is it coming in stock?

Good morning, the 'holder' itself comes on the F750GS as "GPS PREP" but it comes installed on the handlebars and we relocated it up top.

Is it possible to navigate through the bmw navigator 5 with the bmw diskselector on the steer?

Yes, it works very easily. There's no configuration. Once the navigator Is docked, you can use the 'wonder wheel'

I coulnd’t find a shorter version Fair point. Heather is pretty short and hasn’t complained yet but I’ll see what she thinks. I’ts roughly the same height as BMW’s OEM solution that’s now available.

Hi. This would be the Madstad adjustable windscreen on the F750GS. I think it’s the 18” version.

You can just search eBay for "F850GS nav bracket" and there are a lot of versions of the same bracket.

No movement at all in normal operation. Off road, it sways left to right slightly.
