Finally I bought the official 0 MOA rail for this rifle and got a normal mount.

It's a shame they don't offer this WITH this rifle or give you the option to buy it from the get-go.

I could not understand why you did not mount the rear aperture sight directly on the pic rail above the action then the smaller aperture ring could be utilized. I have my opens as far apart as they can be mounted on my M4. Just a thought, top presentation.👍

I mentioned in the video that the RPR comes with a factory 30MOA rail which puts the rear mounted peep sight way too high (beyond the normal range of adjustment of the front post to compensate). I suppose the other option would be to find a riser for the front Pic rail panel but that would be a bit of trial and error to find an exact match for height.

Question. I bought pretty much the same sights you used in the video. I placed my rear sight all the way to the back. Now is there that much of a difference in zeroing in with the sight at the back vs the rear sight being as far back in the hand guard?

Did you put it on the same rifle? You have the factory 30MOA rail on your right?

Does it make sense to install a red dot or a reflex sight on one of these guns? I always hear long range scopes are the best for them.

No, I don't see a reason to put a red dot on a Ruger PR. At least not for most folks. Maybe there's a niche reason if you're shooting some kind of NRL22 or 3-gun match with .22 rifles and you had to engage a target at 25yrds during part of a stage?
