My Mom would have called the curtain fabric "Shantung". It was a fabric popular in my childhood.

FYI the end hooked pleat closest to the finial typically is positioned back to the wall and hooked into an eyehook of sorts--as well as the last hook nearest the finial being between the bracket and the finial😊😊😊😊 the fabric is super nice----you will have those forever-----excellent taste you have

love love the curtains.. a tip when hanging 4 matching prints.. place the width of the frames between each individual piece of art, that way it has the harmony of one piece of art.. when too much space is left between frames it causes the eye to not focus on the group as a whole... clear as mud i am sure!!!!love your channel..

I love mixing old and new. Curtain rods are an easy way to mix in more modern "new!" I also kind of wanted the rod to disappear because of the molding right above it where the cove ceiling starts! I didn't want to see the line of the window trim, curtain rod, and molding all one right above the other.

Every time I see one of those ubiquitous office staples,the cork board,deliverer of both good and bad news,by way of equally ubiquitous push pin,I think of a tree. Over 30 years ago,in Boston,in the precious botanical garden,there is a cork tree,from Portugal. It is stunning. When I ran my hands over it,that incredible cork bark sang onto my fingers. There is nothing more beautiful than a cork tree.

Also,whilst mudlarking in London,I found two little treasures,two broken off bottle necks,probably from the 1700s,and they still have their corks in! I kept them wet,so that they didn’t shrivel,and when I arrived back home,the first thing I did was to boil them in beeswax,they are now perfectly preserved.

Love the drapes. If needed, Amazon sells tape specifically for tops of curtain rods to make rings/grommets slide easily and quietly. I applied that to my rods and it makes a big difference!
