For 6 foot wide panels and 2 inch wide posts, how far apart were your holes center to center?

Right around 72 3/4”. Keep in mind that it varies with a steeper slope. As a panel is raked to align with a significant slope, that distance shortens up a bit. What I did was I marked each hole location by attaching a panel and a post to the last post being held in place with 1/2 of the cement powder for that hole. That gives you the exact location of the next post. I would only do 3 or 4 sections at a time set in the dry mix. Then I added water and the remainder of the cement mix to those posts, adjusting for height and using a level checking for vertical plumb. I didn’t screw the panels to the posts initially, I held the panels tight in the holes on the posts with rope for accuracy until the cement dried, then installed the screws.

Thanks for this video. We need a 45 degree angle in our New Haven fence. We already bought and started putting up the fencing. Is there a way to do it? Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

You’re welcome, here’s what I found. Lowes sells a bracket for angles up to 45°, see the link below. It may not normally be stocked so you might have to order it. The only thing is, the description does not specify the dimensions of the actual rail fitting (as the Freedom brand has multiple aluminum fence models available). The picture looks like it would be the correct size and scrolling down the page, it lists the New Haven components as “Regularly Bought Together“. www.lowes.com/pd/Freedom/5002344937 I would guess that this bracket is the right size, but you might want to get in touch with Lowes to make sure. The dimensions of the horizontal rails on our fence are 1” x 1”. Also, in the description, it mentions attaching the bracket to a non-punched post (for the bracket side). Other than that, you can do an internet search on angled fence brackets and you’ll see numerous universal angled brackets. Hopefully, the Freedom bracket is the right size! We are thinking about getting this fence this weekend at Lowe’s. Looks like you did this now about a year ago. How is the fence still holding up? Ours is going next to or on top of concrete with the pole anchors they offer

We’re happy with it. It’s not wrought iron but it has kept it’s shape and it still looks like new. We would buy it again if we had to do it all over again. The only negative is that the birds really like it too and during dry periods, you might choose to give it a rinse occasionally to keep it looking good. 😎
