Install Overview of Johnson 12 Loader on John Deere 140

This is actually NOT an install video, but rather an overview since I already had it installed. Pretty straightforward, if not easy. It functions much better as properly equipped here rather than using the on-board hydraulic couplers which was a bust. I do have another video when it was installed in that arrangement, if you care to see how NOT to do it.

Yeah I just sold that one. I had one last kink to work oout but the guy bought it anyway, it should be a good tractor/loader combo for him all things considered. Having the 1023E made keeping it pretty unnecessary. Thanks for watching.

I have a couple Questions 1. Would this Tutorial work on my 1975 John Deere 300? And 2. Where did you get that Johnson 12 loader and Bucket?

The 140 and early 300 series were very similar, in fact, I had this same loader on a 316 I had if you check some of my really old videos. 2.), that's a bit harder, they are very hard to find because of age and people tend to keep them. Where you get the control valve? I have a 20 loader and the control valve looks similar to the one you replaced and in same condition too and want to replace it..was it hard?

It was an easy switch out and it works way better than the original. It wasn't a perfect match, but I was able to get two of the holes to line up. It's a Prince valve. @@FloridaDeere did you have to get new lines that match the JD ones? I just replaced them so would suck to buy them again

@@kevincris2589 I did get a few new lines, because some were older and the fittings were a little different, but I used whatever older lines were still good and not dry rotted. There was one line coming out of the inboard side that wasn't quite the right thread pattern, so that needed to get replaced, but someone bought that before I could get it replaced.

Where did you find the pump?

The pump came with the loader, it was part of the package I bought years ago. If you're asking about the control valve, I got that online, can;t remember where, but it's a Prince 2 spool control valve, I think I paid something like $200-300. I hope that helps and thanks for watching.

I blew my pump so I gotta replace it or rebuild it on my 314 with a johnson

@@sledhead1642 Gosh, so it was the pump, sorry about that. I think if you can get the specs of the old one somehow, you could search for a replacement and find one similar if not exactly perfect and it would probably be fine. Maybe something like this, I found this on one of the forums. Weekend Freedom Machines, MyTractorForum and Green Tractor Talk may have some good ideas and people that have had to replace one once before. Hope that gets you going in the right direction.
