Install pfSense on Proxmox (The Easy Way!)

Install pfSense on Proxmox the easy way. just follow this video and i promise you will succeed. the only portion if this video i consider to be more challenging is the qemu guest agent portion but even that, you only have to do once or skip entirely.
There are several prerequisites you need to have fulfilled in order to Install pfSense on Proxmox, you need to have a computer with more than one network port. we will need one for LAN and another one for WAN.
You will also need to have Proxmox already installed, that part is out of the scope of this video. You will need to download the pfsense ISO file and have it ready on your computer.
Now, if all prerequisites are fulfilled, we can start to Install pfSense on Proxmox. Having pfsense running as a virtual machine has its advantages and disadvantages but the big advantage here is the ease of recovery in case something goes bad, just remember to have your pfsense virtual machine backed up regularly.
To Install pfSense on Proxmox you need to also basic understanding of the Proxmox hypervisor since this the platform that you will use to manage your pfsense virtual machine, again, out of the scope of this video.
Here are the commands i used in this video:
pkg install -y qemu-guest-agent
vi /etc/rc.conf.local
qemu_guest_agent_enable="YES"
qemu_guest_agent_flags="-d -v -l /var/log/qemu-ga.log"
service qemu-guest-agent start

Hi I have a router provided by my ISP its a fibre based, it has 4 ports one is for fibre-optic cable which comes from ISP. Other 2 are LAN ports one is connected to my PC via LAN cable & a telephone port nothing connected to it . Can I configure pfsense on my PC. Also what do I need to do physically on it like which port is required etc..?

Please do OPNsense. It’s better than pfsense. I’ve actually migrated from Untangle NGFW to Unifi.

Better to trash your ISP modem and useit like Bridge or directly into PfSense

Put the IP that the ISP hands over to pfSense in the ISP router's DMZ.
