after removing media and hiting enter the computer boots saying checking media and doesn´t find ubuntu server. Anyone help? i have reinstalled it 3 times already changing various settings and still nothing

So when I boot to the flash drive I just see the words “GRUB” in the corner. I haven’t been able to get past that after 10 hours of waiting. This is on a flash drive that I used baleraEtcher on another windows machine to install on an older windows machine

everytime i try this all i get is a blinking underscore at the top left of the screen and it does nothing

I got that when I was trying to dual boot with Knoppix, but I just wiped everything and reinstalled and it worked. You can try to edit your grub bootloader but I just reinstalled it. Hope that that helps.

Wait longer. Im trying to install onto an old system with USB 2 (may even be USB 1, yikes). Eventually, the installer does load after 3-5 minutes. Just need to wait.

it can be very slow, I installed Ubuntu to my Ryzen system and it still took 60 to 90 seconds for it to get past that on the 1st few boots

if you didn't remove your desktop system accidentally, it should let you choose ubuntu server or desktop during next startup
