Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the crappy video. The reason I made the gate was so nobody would know there was a gate. My whole back yard is fenced with no visible gate. It has withstood 80+ mph winds. Its what three years old. No issues at all...

I saved $200 and nobody knows there is a gate there. As I drive around town you can see where peoples gates are by the black hinges. If you need to access the latch from front just hang a white string over it and noboy will see it. Someone wanting to brake in will go to a gate right...

I have one more section to put up and this side requires a gate. I did not want to use a gate that was a different design than the panels. I found this video that made it possible to me b/c you used the same panel design I am using. Thank you for the confirmation. I will be referring back to this before I start digging.

Glad I could help. My favorite thing is nobody knows there is a gate there. Plan for expansion. In summer heat these panels expand in winter contract.

Good job!!!. I used peastone on my vinal post's. The reason I did that is for water has a place to drain. Inside the post up to the bottom insert hole and around the outer side up to ground level. The stone will settle. Then fill with dirt. It's better than cement, and sturdy. If you have to move your fence and posts, you will be able to reuse them.

The problem is you will eventually get some sag. You will never be able to readjust your gate. Self adjusting are made to take that weight.

What Weight? It's plastic. Been up for 4 years with no sag. It been through some major storms with no issue. I took all the "sag" out when I screwed it to the I beams. It's still completely level after all these years. Freeze and thraw

Great video. I was about to hire somebody to remove the two sections of fens and install double gate just like you until i seen this amazing video and idea. Thanks so much. I have question for you if you wouldn't mind giving me some advice... What do you recommend if my fence slates are very snug up against the post? I wont know if I will have a big enough gap (1/4" needed??) between the fence and the post for the gate to swing without rubbing. I dont want to cut until Im sure this will work for me. I built it in March and it was tight. Hidges are on the outside. So it swings out. Don't need a gap. But when summer came and things heated up. They expanded in the sun. SO then it was binding on the center removalable post a little. Then I took a file and filed off just enough so it would open freely again. I only filed the inside edge sort of like a wedge. So there is still no visible gap but it opens freely. I knew the sun would make it expand in the summer so I expected that. You only have to file the three horizontal "supports" on the panel. Not the whole panel. Its plastic and real easy to file. SO what if it rubs a little. I don't want any visible gaps because people could look through that gap.

@@outdoorswithcam Great video. For the algae, pickup a 1 or 2 gallon pump sprayer for 10 bucks and a gallon of regular pool chlorine. Works wonders no scrubbing.

Yes... That was several years ago. Have not had any problems with it. Its been hit with 80 mph winds and nothing has come loose. Now the post side has an alliuim I beam inside. But the gate is just a plane panel. I had planed to put a wooden paint stick inside if the screws loosed up. But after all these years I have not hand to tighten anything up. So never did. Most important is don't strip the plastic. I guess what I am saying is don't over tighten. Just hand tight.

You really need something in the middle if you are in a high wind area. You could put a small rod in ground or something to stake it.

Where you mounted the hinges to the gate because it’s thin plastic are you having a problem with the plastic cracking because of the weight of the door. Should you strengthen that area with some material on the inside?

There is an I beam inside the vinyl post set in concrete. Self tapping screws through the hinges, Vinyl and into the I beam. If not the post would bend over... I don't know which video you watched But I have a complete video showing the I beam going in and pouring concrete down the post. They sell the aluminum I beams right beside the vinyl post.

The other side of the hinge that is mounted to the gate, wondering if you were having problems with the plastic cracking because it is hollow. I have the same panel but making a much smaller gate but still concerned about it not being strong enough.

I guess you can. When I attached the gate to the I-beam I pre-loaded the hinges with the gates weight. That took the "play" out of the hidges. Its in my video. That way it will never sag unless the hinges wears out...

My concern is wood can, bow, Crack, swell. It would be fine for +5 years but after that... my experience with wooden Stockaid fences. Depends on where you live I guess.

That was great, I want to do the same with my fence but my vinyl fence comes apart, its not solid fence its the other kind which falls apart when you remove it (sectional) , so I don't know how to put hinges on them.

Why not put a screw (or glue) on the back side of the slats to keep them from falling out. This is the reason I picked this style of fence so I could ake a gate...

The center post is not load bearing. Its just for looks and a stop for the gates. Just had a storm with 50 MPH winds it was just fine. The only time its really "wobbly" is when someone graps it or shakes it. Otherwise its fine... It does expand more than I thought it would in hot sun so you do need a gap.

I like straight and level. My yard was not. I sort of did some building a berm so to speak to make look level. I prefer a straight line over stair climbing. Gaps at bottom bother me more than the top... Critter can crawl under them...

Since the hinges are on the outside it will open ~270 degrees. Pull center pole. open both gates and I can drive a truck pulling a boat through it...

Then install a heavy duty 24-in gate drop rod on both gates on the bottom and a gate lock in the center. Do you think this could work and hold up to high winds?

@@universalityofremodeling Yup. The center post is just for looks. The secret is the I beam inside the post with concrete poured into the post. Then BIG self tapping screws through the hinges into the I beam. Without the I beam NO. C-clamp the I beam to the bearing side and pour concrete into the post all around the I beam. Its not going anywhere. It has withstood 80 MPH wind. I did a trapping job the other day and had to go through a "professional installed" gate kit. couldn't believe how wobbly it was. Also make sure it is perfectly level. So without wind the gate just hangs there and doesn't move. If its not level your gate will "swing"...

They sell them right beside the vinyl post. It fits the square post perfectly. Use C-clamps to hold them and pour concert around it inside post. You have to use those post because the vinyl is to weak to support the weight by itself.

@@DuyNguyen-1218 That is why you wrap it in garbage bagss so the concrete can not stick to the post. It sticks to the bags. You pull the post up and the bags are stuck to the concrete in the hole. Then you pull the bags out of the hole after you pull the post up. Like a mold. Thats how boats, concrete statues, plastic parts are made... Concrete won't stick to plastic bags. Spray some silicon spray on it as a release agent if you are worried about it.

Yes I know it was filmed with a $30 call-of-duty camera. I just turn it on. Don't do retakes or have scripts like lots of people do. I would have done a better job if I knew this video would be so poplar. Problem is I only have a $30 camera. Not like this makes me money you know...
