Install Vinyl Plank from a Hallway into a Room NO Transition Strip is needed! No one wants to have break at a door, we want the plank to flow throughout seamlessly. Right? Of course we do and in this video I share how to do this.
Here are the links to tools I use. If you use these links I do get a commission and my family and I thank you very much for your support!

I am getting ready to do a major install in my home of Vinyl Plank. I believe the Lord sent me to your videos to help me learn some of your secrets of the trade. I may need a little help with a difficult bedroom off the main hallway. Thanks for always praying for guys like us who want to install with a little help and advice from a friend. God bless you, Joe.

Nice meeting the fam. A true blessing, Sir. I'm East of you right now over in Virginia renovating a duplex I bought in April. Been laying carpet for my first time ever in a few rooms here and I have to say it's more tiresome and exhausting than laying vinyl plank. Removing the old carpet and padding, pulling all the staples, laying new pad, then stretching fitting, cutting, trimming, tucking... all after hauling heavy rolls if carpet and pad up a flight of stairs, whew! Makes for a good night of sleep. Brings a deep appreciation for the skills and hard work of those who do this stuff for a living. It's nice to get done and then admire my handiwork, feeling like I made good money by saving money doing this all myself. Rock on! ✌🏼

Watching you work with your guys on this floor has totally set the process in my mind to the point where I’m now confident that I’ll do a good job of our floor in what is our first house. I have the whole house to do on a concrete floor and want no door transition strips. I’ll start with a centre line in the central hallway, making sure to measure out so the boards land in sensible places at the doorways and against the walls, then go out from there. I I really appreciate your videos Joe. It’s fun watching you and your team do their thing.

Hi Joe, You provide very good content and give confidence to DIY”er who want to tackle flooring job. I am in the process of installing vinyl plank on basemen floor. The problem I have is the drain in the middle of the floor. The floor slightly slope towards the drain. How do I deal with that? It’s not constant slop. It’s start just around 1-2 ft from drain. Let me know what I should be doing?

I never use filler just take a piece of scrap vinyl or cardboard it's a floating floor you can get away with more than you think remember the tap and lock products are not as good as having locking mechanisms all the way around and just because it's waterproof you still have to use Vapor Barrier on concrete 6 mil preferred they don't want you putting cabinets on top of it

Do you happen to have a video showing plank installation going straight through a doorway (instead of side to side)? I'm assuming I can do this but I'm a little nervous about it having not seen any videos showing any unique challenges I might want or need to consider. I'm planking my hallway, bathroom and kitchen and want the planks to go all in the same direction which means planks will run forward through the bathroom door instead of left to right)

Good.effort.. always use the multi-tool to cut mains to meet your knife guide. If you must, cut the hack at 45 from a corner to break it inward to avoid a runner Crack. I'm something else at flooring. Adhd and a vape with a bit of coffee and dam. It is clean and I'd go anyways in math. Jigsaw can be clean as well. Spray joint if you need it to slide a bit

I'm still trying to understand fully how you use the cheater board. If i understand this correctly you're setting up the vinyl planking so that it is a specific distance away from the wall of your choice so that it centered in the room. Then the first she of vinyl planking behind the Pieces that you screw into the floor are the pieces that you cut? I kind of get it on a kind of don't i'm so sorry i'm struggling with the concept. If there's a very specific video where you show how to use a cheater board I would love a link to that. I will also look around on youtube and see if I can find some different explanations. But I really like your videos. Thank you for the post.

Do you have any videos on subfloor height issues? For example, a second floor, where there are two bathrooms with tiled floors that are 1" above an OSB subfloor. there is thick padded carpeting now so the height difference isn't too bad. But removing the carpeting and putting in LVP will create a noticeable, and awkward, height difference where the LVP meets the tile. What transition angle to too much? Would you raise the subfloor and, if so how high?
