Follow along in this two-part video series where I discuss some of the details around the installation of my freshly rebuilt 1974 225 c.i. Slant Six and LoadFlite (a.k.a. Torqueflite) A727 automatic transmission into my 1965 Dodge A100 Camper Van.
There are a ton of details I forgot to mention in the video so if you have any questions you can ask them in the comments. I’ll do my best to get you an answer.
A couple things to keep in mind:
I couldn’t use a “load leveler” with my engine hoist because of clearance issues. Yes, it would’ve given me more adjustability but it had to fit through the side doors.
And,
I couldn’t leave the engine hanging on the hoist while I installed the automatic transmission because I needed the floorspace to maneuver the transmission jack.
Yes, there are other ways to do perform this installation. This is just how I did it.
