Installation of the GMC Illuminated Emblem on a 2022 GMC Denali 3500HD

Just ordered mine a few days ago and have already received it but now that ive read the comments im a little worried mines will run into some problems down the line as well. Hopefully GM has fixed the issues with these emblems and made them more durable 🤞 I've also heard automatic carwashes can cause them to fail in the long run , good thing I always hand wash mine. I have a 2021 sierra. I am on my 2nd illuminated emblem (black illuminated emblem). Both have lasted less than 6 months and continue to somehow get water in them. Ordered and installed through dealer both times. Both times part was on back order. A bulletin was put out about these also shorting headlights out. It was a total waste of money and time for me. Anyone else having this issue?

Would wrapping electrical tape around the wiring help keep water out?

I tried to buy an illumined emblem from GM. They are putting a hold on them do to issues with the headlights failing. The dealership wont warranty the installation. Hopefully the issue is resolved by the GM engineers soon.

@@davidhuston1966 Ya, but when you purchase them on their website and want a GMC dealer install, they cancel the order. I guess you a can purchase one, and install it yourself but GMC won't install it, due to liability.

Does it run off the day time running lights or is it only on when the head lights are on.? It would be cool if it was on whenever the truck was on.
