The shims in the kit go under the hammer bushings, one on each side. That is how I installed mine and it works great. No slop in the hammer.

Thank you. I was going nuts wondering where they went

That was a good video with no fluff. You could have slowed down a little but that really didn't matter to me because I slowed the playback speed. I like the trigger upgrade. I appreciate you including the washers because I recently installed a trigger on another gun from another manufacturer and I had to make a shim. I didn't need the shims (washers) on this install but I haven't been to the range yet either. FYI even with the homemade shim that trigger group was not as good as this one. I would have opted for a curved trigger blade if you offered one instead of the flat one because I mostly shoot squirrels with my 10/22.

I'm a big fan of Volquartsen. Every Ruger MK pistol I've had my hands on has gotten the accurizing kit. Best money you can spend on a MK pistol. So when it came time to upgrade the trigger in my new 10/22, the choice was Volquartsen. Installed the HP+ kit, in the non-BX stock housing, and it dropped the trigger pull from around 5 1/2 lbs, to around 3 1/2 lbs, which is acceptable. Nice and smooth, clean break, but the reset is ridiculously long. Way more than the factory trigger had. I'm going to take it all apart, and try again, but sadly, at this point, I'm not very impressed with the 10/22 trigger at all...

Is the hammer spring reduced power or extra power from the factory hammer spring? What are the differences when using an extra power hammer spring or a reduced power hammer spring or the factory hammer spring?

I dunno, I had a pretty good experience with this trigger upgrade. I build and make stuff in general. First look... probably wire EDM and has good surface finish. I decided not to polish. Sure enough, it's smooth. Shims, refer to "trigger shims." It probably depends on your trigger pack. Test fit. They go on the inside of your hammer bushings. They came in the bag with the hammer. My spring-loaded gage read 5.25lbs (old metal housing/pack), to 1.75lbs with the volquartsen kit. The difference (3.5lbs) is more important than the actual reading. The overtravel screw and everything else works fine. Final thoughts... no regerts. Lol. If i were to nit pick for no good reason: -shims for the trigger (trigger shims guy). Little slop -some take-up. I have a 2.5lb Bx trigger, this volquartsen is hands down a better target trigger. Although, value in the Bx trigger is also high. It's less expensive, twice as good as OEM, and you have an extra entire trigger group (if upgrading). Depends on what you want to do.

Again, the speed of the video is an issue but like they say, adjust the speed or in my case, lots of pausing and replay. I wish you flipped the assembly around so it would be from the customers prospective but it worked. Lastly, why do I have two shims left over? What are their importance? Why did you leave them out? Are they optional? Are they required? How does one judge?
