The little white piece (shaped somewhat like a U - it looks like you removed it before the final installation - is that correct and if so how did you remove it?

I just got the 10 year worry free smoke and carbon I installed it. Is green light solid suppose to be turned on at all times after doing the wiring and installing it ?

I just got mine installed and tested working with other wired alarms, having the same question should the green LED light turn on all the times when on AC? mine is not.

Figured it out, use a bright light on the center of the alarm, the LED will turn on green if it is on AC.

Green means AC energized.

I bought these from Costco and installed them. The led came on and was green for about a minute after connecting it to my existing wiring before the LED went out. According to the instructions the green LED does not stay on but its a bit disconcerting - I would prefer if it stayed on all the time as its an easy visual check that everything is working okay

@@1paulxu I tried this and it the green LED comes on if you shine a very bright light on it (an LED flashlight from a short distance away) but once you take the light away it goes out after about a minute - I guess this is normal these days

No greenlight and I don’t see any kind of red light flashing every 60 seconds during nighttime
