Hey 00, have you heard of Mythic? It's a TTRPG system based in the Halo universe. I am about to run a game in it and your videos have been a great help.

@@somerandom3257 It's crunchy. Like if you tried to make a MilSim TTRPG. It is also comprehensive and up to date though. You could play anything from Humans, Covenant, Banished, or Forerunner. Even has the Endless Skimmers in there. The power scale goes all the way from civilians to Spartan IIs (and beyond, you don't ever stop getting xp). I think you could run whatever kind of game you wanted with the system. My campaign will start with the UEGPF busting a local Insurrection cell. Then progress to the party being recognized and pulled into Operation Trebuchet. Then the Human Covenant war will start and they'll get pulled into that.

I will also say that just because Spartans are Tier 5 and Marines are Tier 2, those are just starting tiers. If you play a Tier 5 marine you will have SO MUCH exp to spend on abilities while the guy who started as a Spartan II will have almost no exp remaining in character creation. The Spartan will always much be stronger, faster, and tougher than said marine, but in other regards the Marine will be just as good if not better. Hell you could play a civilian in a high tier game, think Halsey.

I’ve never found the “logic plague” to be a convincing or plausible part of the story without a more spiritual explanation (neural physics). Psychology alone is not a good enough explanation for me in these cases. Another random thought, I think black holes are underused as methods of getting rid of something dangerous. Just drop the primordial near the event horizon of a supermassive blackhole in a unpowered capsule. Maybe use a magnetic launch rail after getting as close as possible. Or create a krugleblitz black hole right and throw the primordial in to get turned into hawking radiation. In the case of the primordial perhaps that still wouldn’t work. The mind/soul/consciousness is the part of him that became the gravemind. It’s interesting that the Halo universe isn’t merely riffing off of religion like many sci-fi, but spiritual/neural physics is the fundamental basis of the universe. It has similarities to the theistic view that ‘mind’ is fundamental, which is why assertions of math, logic, and morality are true apart from the physical universe (based in the eternal ‘mind’ of God). Even the relational concepts are eternally part of God via the Trinity. I think the Halo universe (according to the primordials) is more pantheistic or panentheistic in its philosophy. So there would be differences such as ‘evil’ not being evil. In theism evil is not a thing itself, but a corruption of what was originally good. In pantheism/panenthiesm evil is just a part of the overall experience of the living universe/god/Brahman. It’s not as strong of a philosophical argument for panenthiesm/panthiesm, but is still a decent argument for ‘mind’ being fundamental.

Would you be interested in co-authoring a new halo book series i am working on? Its based off a new character from a short story fanfiction i published, and ties into a lot of existing halo lore while pushing the universe forward beyond the events of halo infinite. The precurors return, the flood, humanity gets upgrades and rises its a whole thing. we'd be writing new lore! The series would tie up a lot of halo universe loose ends and be pretty large in scale. I like your writing and wondered if you would be interested in helping build new halo canon based on the best of what came before. The only part of this i hate is the reach part. Halsey onew each spartan just by their walk (fall of reach book, first strike ect) and did not know about the spartan IIIs until first strike.
