Tried this with my 06 mini cooper s and the hub came out while driving. Wouldn’t recommend installing the short hub outside the plastic housing and instead open it up and push it in all the way. The hub rubs on the plastic behind it if you don’t and the hub doesn’t sit far enough in on the splines. Not sure if I have a faulty part or something but I used the same kyostar e36 hub as in this video

I just let my hub rub through the plastic, haven’t had any problems with the spline or the hub.

What hub are you using? I have the NRG short hub and doesn’t seem to fit

Just one comment here, the parts that were used here to attach the quick connect to the steering column do not work for my 2003 mini Cooper SR 53. The connection of the hub to the steering column is too short, so it’s not possible to turn the steering wheel. So please be aware if someone buys those parts, it may not work for 2003 mini Cooper S.
