Mat, Getting really very excited about this project in particular. Not often we see a vintage custom shop Truck, love that your going all in on the truck to build something really special. The dash is the best choice with all the high end items you had chosen for the drive line, I'm really glad to see the Auburn Dash a perfect choice! Makes for a perfect period correct combo. love it.

Absolutely awesome retro hot rod mod! Did you notice the outline around the center top screw hole? I assume it was either the outline of an Auburn badge or an original painted detail that kind of resembles the Batmobile logo. Matt, you might consider retaining it in the finished interior.

Hey guys, I am regularly amazed how quickly ITG are able to transform a find from rusty wrecks to assembled cars. That dash sure does lift the look of the whole truck. What a unique looking vehicle it will be when finished. It's as though the traditional past is reappearing right before my eyes with each ITG episode I watch. 🙂🇦🇺👍😎

Hello Matt Paris 🇫🇷Calling..That Auburn dashboard was a heck of a find, It could have been made for the ‘29 Roadster… and now it is! That was an oasis’ worth of sand stashed in the gas tank either it belonged to a oil sheik or someone didn’t like the owner! I wonder who the kid was that stuffed toy cars into the tank? Whatever, this is a great “I’ll watch it again” video, thank you.

Matt awesome effort on the dash it looks like it belongs in that truck. I think it is great you use a lot of the rare pieces in your own projects instead of selling them. Money comes and goes, but the rare parts like this dash is not something that comes very often. I'm starting to like the truck as much as I like the Scroll coupe, and that is my favorite of all your builds. Kudos Matt!!

Matt, As said by others "great work". Funny how some parts of a project fight you and others "almost" fall into place. At least you make it appear so. Visualisation, brain work, hard work, mix thoroughly. You inspire me. When very young I saw hot rods in the early '60s small format, green print, Hot Rod Magazines. Sometimes the dash was called out as Auburn, sometimes not. I had no idea what an Auburn was then. I just knew i liked them. Later I wondered how it was done. Now i know one method. As said in the movie " The Martian" you scienced the s**t out of it. Doing a massive amount of that on my own project. Thank you.

Really nice, the slant will help a lot in being able to see the gauges. I put a 50 Ford speedo/gauges in the center of the dash on my Model A and it sets flat. I'm tall so my sight angle to the gauges if poor. I can only see the fuel gauge if I lean down and to the center. I only check it when I'm stopped or if the car stops running.

Love the look, the practicality of the Auburn, and the workmanship demonstrated here. Now one question: Why are you using straight slotted screws rather than Phillips? Your driver slipped several times and would have surely damaged any finished paint were this thae final assembly. Phillips were invented to combat this tendency during production, and also do the same for us in our back yard shops. I personally use stainless Phillips fasteners when ever they are appropriate. I know that their design only dates back to c. 1935, but still worth implementing them in the assembly of a build typical of the decades surrounding WW2. Thank You for showing us the way.....RooDog....
