R is definitely a rear spring. Probably a wrangler.

Scott Vassar no, I don’t think it is. On my jimny’s and my navara the springs have always been longer and of an alternate spring rate on the drivers side - due to ALWAYS carrying additional weight on the drivers side _ I.e. driver and steering column etc

Definitely NOT a Wrangler Rear spring.

I like your videos, very informative and you cover most things for a xj lift as far as I can tell as I am preparing to do a 94. The harmonica just irritates me bro. It’s like bag pipes. I want to hear what you talkin about but the interludes are ugh.

I apologize. KZbin makes guessing music levels tough. I made a 6 month review video on this setup which will have info on the parts I use and how they are working.

I see people eliminating the front sway bar. As apparently its not needed? Thoughts?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 4 жыл бұрын
MARZ1911 I don’t think the front sway bar is needed. The front feels looser without it for sure but still drive able. That being said I do plan on putting the sway bar back on at some point bc I want firm up the front suspension.

If you want you can buy away at end link quick disconnects. They arnt expensive at all like 50 bucks for the pair maybe? And you can just un clip and pin thout the way when you want full flex and then for road driving just re attach them
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. That’s the way I’d go because the jeep is kind of unstable when taking corners on road.

I have a couple questions for all you XJ owners. Will 31’s fit on a 1999 with no rubbing issues with 3” R.C. Series 2 lift kit with stock Gambler wheels and how much does it affect gas mileage? It’s my daughters 1st vehicle but I don’t want to kill the gas mileage. Thank you guys in advance!
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 жыл бұрын
There is a chance that the tires will rub the front lower control arms with the steering wheel turned to full lock. A different wheel with 4” of backspacing will fix that. Or on the cheap you can use wheel spacers but I’m not sure what width you’d need and wheel spacers can be dangerous if not installed correctly

Hey man. Wouldnt it have been better to rent a coil spring compression tool from wherever to take springs out or am i missing something?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 4 жыл бұрын
It’s kind of preference. I don’t like removing coil springs when they are under compression. I’m afraid I’d bump the coil compressor wrong and it become a projectile. It’s worth the extra step to take it out unloaded to me.

What leafs off what year of Dodge Durango did you use an where can I get the correct center pin ? Thanks man love the videos
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 5 жыл бұрын
the leafs I used were from a 99 durango from a local pull-a-part. For center pins I used ones for a 99 durango. I got my pins from roockauto.com. heres a link - www.rockauto.com/en/parts/dayton,CB3850,leaf+spring+bolt,10353. In part 2 I go over the bastard pack install in detail. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJXZdZ-niJaAZ7s I also left the links for everything I used in the description of that video. Thanks for watching my videos! let me know if you have any other questions.

Are those tires a true 32"? I'd like to go up to a 4" lift, any input on how you would go about it? Save some $, but something that be just as good
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 3 жыл бұрын
Yes these are a true 32. I think they actually measured 32.5” brand new. The lift I put together works really well. The only change I would make to this setup is I’d find stiffer shocks for the front and I would have just use the entire Durango leaf pack( besides the main leaf). It works great and is cheap. These tires are not cheap by any means. I’m honestly going to switch to a 33” milestar Patagonia mt once they wear out. Much cheaper tire but have good reviews

Long spring is for driver side
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 4 жыл бұрын
I ended up calling BDS and they said the coils should have been the same length. I return these springs and reordered the same one. The second set of springs were the same length. I must have got a mix-matched set for some reason.

Did you ever find out why one coil spring was longer than the other?
@TheOffRoadCorner
@TheOffRoadCorner 5 жыл бұрын
Dan Hambrick not really. I did measure the ride after install and the driver side was about a half inch lower than the passenger side. I’m guess is the longer coil on the drivers side has a lower spring rate.
