I understand where you’re coming from, but these breakers have so many engines that they’re buying and selling, all they do to verify that it’s a good engine is running it before they take it out of the car. This engine ran before I bought it I saw the video - so the seller had no way of knowing about this damage if it ran fine.

Hey jack love your videos i have a jazz same shape as yours mine suffers with rust i absolutely love it through they are such an underrated brilliant small car i also have a type r id love to do this conversion but wouldn't be able to afford yet,could you give information on insurance for it when modded as a lot of content creaters dont talk about the legal bits when its roadworthy..can't wait to see progress please leave as a sleeper as i feel it spoils the cars practicality what i love about it!keep up the great work ❤

I understand you guys are new to this but I cringed when lifting the body in the air to pull the engine out underneath. Next time take the front crossmember off and pull the engine out through the front end because is that ratchet strap snapped or the axel stand moved on the rear it could of been bad just looking out for you guys next time.

You actually can’t take the engine out from the front. We checked there were spot welds stopping us from removing that front cross member. It was either angle grind off them welds and weld it back on - or remove the engine from underneath. The latter was the simplest and most doable option for us and it’s actually how the engine is designed to be taken out - it’s just most sensible people have a two post lift to make it far less sketchy 😅 But we wrapped the ratchet straps around the chassis legs so it was solid and the straps were only taking the weight of the front so they weren’t close to their tensile limit. It looked a lot worse than it was tbh! But either way really appreciate the feedback 👌🏼

You don’t want to sandblast that rocker cover it has a baffle inside and sand/media can get stuck in there then gets into the engine and kills them it’s happened to lots of k20 owners
