Installing a Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 80's Retro Style Stereo With Bluetooth & USB in a Porsche 928

Hi Rudy - thanks for the vid. I recently purchased a 1989 928 with the original Blaupunkt tape deck, and the sound system is abysmal. I wanted to check to make sure you are happy with the Bremen. My speakers all seem to be shot, so I am looking forward to any speaker recommendations you have. I am 100% aligned with you and keeping the car as close to original as possible. So many speakers look way too disco, and I'd prefer to keep the plain, understated look when replacing them. I'm not someone who needs huge sound, so speakers that are respectable is fine. Thanks!

Great video! Did you replace all of the fuses and relays in the passenger foot area? Replace every single one with new ones. That's a common reason for electrical gremlins in these cars. I agree. I do not like most current hesdunits. I.miss the 90's designs.

I haven't replaced all of the fuses yet, but I plan to do that with the flashing style just to make it easier to troubleshoot in the future

It’s actually an eighties design. There is a Bluetooth nineties reissue released now, the Frankfurt.

How is the radio reception of the SQR 46? A friend told me he heard it wasn't good. And I'm not an audiophile and it's been a LONG time since I've done a car stereo. How does a 4 chl amp work with all the speakers in a 928? I have an 89 S4 if it makes any difference. Thanks.

Hi, I have a problem with my Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB. Sometimes the volume suddenly mutes by itself; turning up the volume again it immediately goes to zero. Turning the radio off and on again does not solve the problem. It is solved only by disconnecting and reconnecting the ISO connector. How can I fix? Thank you very much!

I'm sorry, but that sounds like something internal to the Bremen unit. I recommend you reach out to Blaupunkt customer service and hopefully, you can get a warranty claim on it.
