Great video of under the dash showing the brake light switch removal process. A tough angle to get without a camera. Very helpful.

Thanks a bunch. Just about to attempt this exact same task on my 67. Fingers crossed.

Good luck. I have had very bad luck with aftermarket booster quality. I hope yours works on the first try!

AmbiVe Got her dun in 3 hours. Yep after markets crap is now out. Had exactly what you described, hissing. New one is all good. Had to remove the brake lines and made it much easier to remove the shock tower brace first as well.

Removing the left tower brace works easier. Control cabels of the heaterpanel in front of the brake pedal ???
@AmbiVe5 жыл бұрын
That's not nearly the strangest thing I have seen on these old cars. My guess is that the cables got stuck at some point and after fixing them, they didn't want to route them all back through.

Would it help at all to remove that brace? Or is that more trouble than its worth. Looking to do this on a 67 Cougar actually.

I have a 66, but mine is an automatic transmission too. What do I need to do differently?

Wow, I bet this is a great video, but the sound quality is terrible. I wish I could have watched it completely.

Wow amazing you managed to skip a lot of problem areas like hooking up the booster back to the pedal and them darn old brake lines that just seem to undo without any issue's not a real good demonstration on the removal and instillation.

not looking foward to this

What was the condition of the issue. Was there a hissing noise coming from the pedal
@AmbiVe6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it would hiss at the pedal when not depressed. Ultimately I think it was an issue with the brand. The new unit had a similar issue after about a month and I replaced it with a different brand (Tuff Stuff 9" from Jegs) and have not had any issues since.

What is the part number for the right booster?
@AmbiVe5 жыл бұрын
The Jegs item I used (and still have in the car) is 908-2225NB. So far, so good.

@@AmbiVe Thank you for posting this video. I wrestled with the exact same brake light switch issue and now I know it is the booster that is the problem. Thank you!!
