Nice Tips! Plus I like the Aux wire / CB hack to the connector. Two comments - The Limited and Ultra AFTER 2014 do NOT include the right hand PTT switch. But the ones before 2014 do. There are also videos which say prior to 2018 you do NOT need to flash to add CB. Mounting antenna under tour pack... Keep in mind the tour pack has a full width metal plate in across the bottom of it. This will effectively act like at RF shield covering your antenna. While your radio / CB may work... it won't work as well as it could.

Thanks for watching my video and the information. I did note that all needed the PTT Switch needed to be added. My Road Glide is a 2021. And my Tour Pak has the metal plate. Traveling cross country trips and my CB has great range. No difference from interference with or without the Tour Pak. 🏍💨🏍💨

Thank you for the great video, I’m doing the same on my 21RGL I have all the parts but the antenna cable the part number you showed comes up for an older bike 08 .

If you mean the cable that goes from under the seat to the Tour Pak, it’s 69200211. But the Limited has the cable already ran from where the CB mounts to the Tour Pak. It’s made in the Factory Wiring Harness. The antenna that mounts to the muffler may come back for older models, but Harley does this all the time to make people think they need a new bike because parts no longer fit. Thanks for watching. 🏍💨🏍💨

Oh man i wish you would have put in your description all the parts and if possible links. Like the cable you used from CB unit to rear, the adapter you used, etc.

hope you may have that information to help a youngsta like me

No adapters were required. The cable that connected from the CB to under the seat was a Factory cable (69200136) right out of the Factory Part Catalog. The Factory cable extension to the Tour Pak in 69200211. I was going to adapt a BNC plug on the Tour Pak extension. But found a cable with the BNC already attached. The rest is explained in the video. Good luck and have fun!

Thank you for your videos, did you say that the limited com with the antena cable already, ? The part of the antena that Connect to the cb is in the front ?? Thanks
@TheRoadGlideRider2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the CB Antenna connection is included with the Factory wiring on the Limited. According to the instructions, you need the CB module, Hand Controls (with the Push to Talk Button) and the antenna itself. If you look in your Tour Pak, you’ll see the Antenna Cable connected to your Tour Pak light. The CB is opposite side from the Infotainment Antenna. Thanks for viewing my video. 🏍💨🏍💨

nice video! im adding cb to my 2015 RGS. amazingly im using the same parts you did. I got every thing HD from the cb module to the cb splitter cable but after market stuff from the cable to the antenna. do you remember how big you drilled the hole for thr bnc connecter?
@TheRoadGlideRiderАй бұрын
@@rckwon123 Thanks for watching. I try to show how easy it can be. Sorry, I don’t remember what size I used. I just started small and enlarged the hole until it fit. You can’t add if gone to large. 🤔
@rckwon123Ай бұрын
Just put everything on my RGS. I drilled the hole to 1/2 inch.

Where did you find the cable that runs under the seat to the fender strut, and can you please provide the part number? Thanks

I ordered it off Amazon. Called “Eightwood BNC Male to Motorola AM/FM Male Plug Extension Cable 3 Feet Coax RG58 for Car Radio Antenna Scanner”. Cost $8.89. Thanks for watching.

Great conversion! What model antenna did you use? How do describe the BNC adapter that mounts to the Cairo?
@TheRoadGlideRider Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my video. The Antenna was purchased off Amazon. Here is the description from Amazon. “Bingfu CB Antenna 27MHz CB Radio Antenna BNC Male Connector Soft Whip CB Antenna Compatible with Cobra Midland Uniden Maxon Radio Shack Portable Handheld CB Radio Mobile Radio Police Radio Scanner”. The BNC cable connection for the Cairo mount also came from Amazon. “BNC Bulkhead Insulated Connector Female to Female Coupler Panel Mount RF Coax Adapter”. As in the video, I just made the hole larger to accept it. I also purchased the Connector Cable with the BNC Connector already attached off Amazon. This made no soldiering needed to connect the antenna. Here is the cable description. “Eightwood BNC Male to Motorola AM/FM Male Plug Extension Cable 3 Feet Coax RG58 for Car Radio Antenna Scanner”. I’ve been using this for the last two summers and works great! I hope this helps. 🏍💨🏍💨

I enjoy having the CB on last three Harleys. I hate the company skimped out on adding them to the newer bikes.

I know what you mean. 🤔 But Harley has made the CB more usable, in my option, with the GTS Infotainment unit. Thanks for watching my video. 🏍💨🏍💨

@@TheRoadGlideRider I have been thinking about getting a newer bike but the latest CB modules seem to be out of stock. H-D still has ones for the old Harmon radios with CD player though.

Thanks. It took a while to post this. I didn’t want to post incomplete installation. The first dealer that was to activate the CB couldn’t. Just said it couldn’t be done on my model. But I had the Service Manual. So I just went to a dealer that was recommended knew about electronics. Activated fast! And works better than the CB I had on my 2009 Road Glide. 🏍💨🏍💨

@@TheRoadGlideRider That’s what I had been told, that it would not work with the new radio. I am glad to know that it does indeed work on new models. Nice hat ;)
