Tribulation Prepper - did you read the comments he’s referring to? These WERE NOT questions, they were disrespectful passive-aggressive attacks on his professionalism. Richard spends hours and hours reading and replying to curious homeowners who politely ask questions (he’s here to HELP, and knows that many viewers DON’T know stuff)...and his dedicated followers, many of whom are ALSO pros, answer questions on his behalf. He loves his subscribers, but he despises ignorant disrespect...and yes, he would probably punish Levi (his son) if he ever said some of the bullstuff that was posted. But Levi won’t do that, because he was RAISED RIGHT by a great dad...maybe that’s part of the problem of the fools who are Keyboard Ninjas and Internet A-holds? I’m NOT referring to you, Prepper, and neither was Rich, as I don’t recall ever seeing You post anything mean...I’m speaking about those who do, and there are a bunch of them. To the ones Rich WAS speaking to: ask anything you want, just be polite. Don’t make statements pretending your opinions are facts. If there’s something you don’t agree with, that’s fine...but be nice about it.
@philipbohi983
@philipbohi983 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry Prepper, I guess we’ll agree to disagree, which is ok...we’re all entitled to our opinions and interpretations. And it’s ok to express them in a respectful manner, which I feel you and I are doing now (thank you). I can tell you were highly offended by the content, since you posted your comment in many places. One thing you must consider- there are always a few especially nasty or stupid comments you’ll never see - because he filters them and deletes them, so his videos don’t become a battleground of the lowest common denominators in a race to the bottom of a cesspool. He never lets controversy become a catalyst for his videos view count. I can’t speak for Richard, but I do know him and we’ve often laughed about some of the incredibly offensive and outrageous things people say online that they’d probably never say to anyone in person. He’s not afraid to delete the crude stuff, or block the obvious trolls if they’re constantly mean to him or his subscribers legitimate questions and comments. But that’s rare. More often, he ignores it and just chalks it up to poor manners or lack of etiquette...and he turns the other cheek, but that doesn’t imply that he’s not bothered by it. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen him punch back... I’m personally sorry you (or any average Joe Homeowner, like myself) felt his message was directed at you because I don’t believe (only my opinion) that it was not. There is nothing wrong with not knowing something and asking about it. But when someone is trying to help, why bite the hand that’s feeding you? I believe THOSE people were his intended audience for the intro.

The coolest thing about this type of stuff, KZbin, insta, etc...you can leave. You can blame “stupid questions” on being a homeowner, however, if you have zero clue, maybe you shouldn’t be getting your lesson from an experienced carpenter that is putting out nutshell videos online for free to you. Dude spends how many hours recording, editing, commenting, and you guys give him disrespectful comments, constantly

Saw your video when you released it and was going to commend you on the toggle bolt technique, got sidetracked and didn't but will now. Great idea to get that little extra fudge factor for precision placement plus the aid in holding the piece up. I'm waiting for you to acquire some staging (scaffolding) to use inside on these full ceiling projects. Way more comfortable than moving ladders around and working in short reaches. The time and convenience will out way the setup/tear down time. Then again, I've been in the building game for longer than you've been on the planet and my knees appreciate not going up and down. Great job man one of the best carpenters I’ve ever seen and I’ve been in the business for 20years! Don’t let those people bother you they obviously don’t do this for a living and don’t have a clue what they’re talking about! Anyone that knows about finish work can see that you take a lot of pride in your work and do things the very best way! Keep up the great work and videos!

You have great mechanical skills, I haven't done much finish work in the last decade but getting back into a bit, I copied your sommerfeld router table and was able to replicate wood siding from the 1800's in the field, I didn't know the job was in the workers and was able to pick up a bit last minute at a good local supplier and get the job done quickly, knowledge is key and keeping an open mind. Never stop learning, and thank you for the knowledge I have gained
