Glad you showed it in action at the end, I was curious how well that would work. Interesting machine that I never knew existed. Cool

I've got another similar video coming with a shaping tool (rather than a planer) attachment.

My 70 year old saw mechanic that I learned basically everything I know about saws has a husky 61 de- barker! Works great!

I bet it does! Plenty of power

Looks good for knocking down a spot to setup board for mill. 👍

The debarker was used once for a project to replace some logs on a house. It worked so well that the saw was given as partial payment to a contractor working on the job. Now this may not be the highest quality brand but it says a lot about the tool.

Thanks! You tube would block my videos if I posted all the audio from those vids.

Great review. Shouldn't have to do all the tweaking on the thing before it's first use.

You missed the dad jokes on this one, so allow me: Debarker? That's ruff. Debaker? Piece of cake. You are welcome.

Sorry for my ignorance, but shouldn't the clutch be on the inside? would that align the pulley better? I just got one and am trying to install it, but putting the clutch on the outside seems weird.
@TheGreasyShopRagАй бұрын
On this model chainsaw thats the only way the clutch can be installed.

Hi sir seen this video. Iam definitely interested in a good debarker. Have you used any others that u would actually suggest. I run my tools hard so this one you tested doesn't seem like a tool I would actually use.
@TheGreasyShopRag Жыл бұрын
I have never used a debarker before or after this installation. Sorry, I can't help.

I had thought that this attachment bolts to the blade of the chainsaw, not the body. I've only ever seen these attached to the blade, not instead of the blade
@TheGreasyShopRag Жыл бұрын
I've never seen one attached to the chain but then again I don't see many of these at all. Now that I think about it, a chain system would not have worked for this unit. The customer was using it to replace sections of a log house. A chain needs oil and he would have made a mess of things as oil flung off the chain. Thanks for watching.
@daynawithawhy Жыл бұрын
@@TheGreasyShopRag I'd take my chances with the oil, especially since oil is easier to manage than blood, and I'd truly prefer to replace a post than an arm or an eye... Things Made In China ? things that you purchase off Amazon or eBay they actually just throw the stuff together on a assembly line I Actually Have One Of These Made By Stihl it's Bad Ass it Runs Off The Chain Not A Belt this actually let you cut the logs and debark them at the same time without switching everything out I actually use it in my lawn mowing service people have trees in their yard that have roots that are above Ground so we charge them to remove the roots which will always save your mower Blades and maybe even stopped a bent crankshaft good Video Keep it Going
@TheGreasyShopRag6 ай бұрын
@Tarheelsrule yes this is a cheapie tool. It was purchased for a one time job and served it's purpose quite well but I suspect it wouldn't last long with commercial use.

I want one for roots that stick up out of the ground and catch the mowers 😂 that would be the bees tits
@TheGreasyShopRag Жыл бұрын
I never thought about that before. I wonder how much root can be removed without harming the tree?
