Installing a DRO on the Mill

Your more than welcome, fitting a dro was a no brainier for me as my machine has imperial hand wheels. I’ll follow up with the other axis this week coming as it was a lot more difficult to fit. All the best.

It looks Like you have left the red safety spacer in place , this once removed will give you the clearance required for the correct operation of the scale. Good job , well done.

You will never regret investing in a DRO system. You can now forget about backlash on the lead screws.

Yeah find my dro on my lathe so useful so only right I get one on the mill.

I have already fitted one of those small dro with a little screen onto the spindle so hopefully that will do me.

Hi Douglas I finished the install off at the start of the accuracy test. As of today dro is still going strong good old Chinese imports.

Hi Derek, I can’t find the eBay shop selling these anymore. However they were just your generic Chinese import DRO eBay shops so there is plenty on eBay selling them.

Have you posted a link to the DR0 you purchased and the size of the slides you brought?

Hi Simon, No sorry didn’t post a link as this is your standard import DRO kit from China that’s plastered all over eBay when you search for them. By all means I can go back and find it on my purchase history if you think it will be beneficial to you and others.
