installing a DubFab IRS kit on Split VW Bus Part 1

We finally have the majority of parts to start the IRS conversion on my split VW Bus. It's been a long wait, but the results will be worth it for sure. In the first video we tackle the installation of the main suspension components, and the stub axles too. lots to do so let's quit talking about it and get to doing it.

So Dubfab made the arms too? Side note, we should talk to 034 Motorsports or UroTuning. They both make their own rubber mounts for the watercooled work but use a stiffer solid rubber for their motor mounts and strut mounts. I bet they could easily make these kind of higher durometer engine mounts!

I do not. I’ve worked on a few when I turned wrenches at Beetle Barn. Very similar platforms.

Cool video. I’m curious if you could use the 3x3 boxed arms on a bus even if doing a IRS conversion on the early bus like you can on the type 1 bugs if doing a Baja style build.

That are the new EMPI direct replacement for their standard caliper. With e brake.

Interesting you guys in the states seem to do most irs conversions with beetle arms, no one uses 68/70 bay window arms and drums?

These areas were modified for 2” drop and 1 3/4” narrow for my narrowed torsion housing. Michael is working on a Bay arm kit.
