I just used one of the wires for the pedals to pull it. I was going crazy trying to push that rope through with no luck towards the end. So I tied 15lb braid from the wire end to the rope end and it pulled it right through. This was a stupid designed using a rope that binds up....

You might try to put the welding wire in first. Once it’s through you can attach the cable and pull it back up.
