Installing a Flush Mount Light Fixture
Thank you for stopping by! I tackled another project. This time it was the bathroom fixture. It was past time to get it done! The original fixture is over 10 years old!
If you have a similar project, don't put it off any longer! I used to be afraid to work on electrical tasks, but once I considered and learned and respected the safety required in working this way, I felt a lot more confident in my ability. The following tips are tried, tested, and approved by yours truly (for the beginner).
Tip# 1. Make sure your work area is kid free zone. Having a helper who understands can make your life and projects go a lot smoother. My teenager fit the bill & she got the job. :)
Tip# 2. Prepare the area, clean up or remove items from possibly getting broken or damaged (if you would not move them); possibly lay out a drop cloth or expect to clean up afterwards. In my case, I needed a flashlight and a two step ladder. I also needed a broom and mop.
Tip#3. Lay out the contents of the box that your new fixture came in. Review the parts list and manufacturer's instructions on safety and installation and the tools needed to complete the task.
Tip# 4. Gather your necessary tools & safety equipment. Don't forget your eye safety, electrical voltage tester, & gloves (if necessary).
